Cooling fan relay

This looks like the cooling fan relay/controller is that correct ? I was thinking some of ya might grab control of the fan differently than the factory does. I don't mean powered up all the time but maybe link an external controller along with leaving the factory still contacted in case of the add-on failure. I haven't tried anything yet, Computer controlled car sometimes get angry when you tie something in on top of the factory system/wiring. I have systems push codes and warnings out when doing this. I've seen the thermostat up grade and don't understand how it works. or why it could be so costly / ?

Hey,
I've seen this thermostat "thing". A thing because its a mystery to me how its designed and how its so special. Yes it lowers the opening temp but since I haven't seen inside the unit in my own car maybe I need to do that first. I'm a builder not a buyer at the core so thats the reason I'm so interested.
Now back to my original question the fan relay/controller ?
