A few questions
Hey all, i have a few more questions i couldn't find the answers to by searching
1). I am trying to get to the vacum lines in my Driver's side door to fix a leak i hear for the 'soft close' function but once i get the door panel off the insulation is glued to the door frame, if i remove this do i have to re-glue it, do i gave to remove this to get to the lines and /or pump?
2). I'm looking for 5000K or 6000K bulbs for my Headlights, Fog Lights and rim lights (the small bulbs that light up the the center running light's fixture).
I currently have 5000K bulbs that i bought on eBay in all 6 but the colors don't match and the Fog bulbs already stopped working... anyone have a recommendation?
3). The AMG badges on my seats have come unclipped from their underpinnings so that part of the seat kind of puffs out, any way to fix this?
Thanks in advance!

Slowly pull the insulation away from the door. It helps to do this in warm conditions or using a heat gun/hair dryer.
The sticky black glue that is used to hold will still be on the insulation and door and when you reapply the insulation it will stick right back down.
As for the AMG seat badge, it is a two piece retention system. Likely the metal leg has broken. The fix is simple OTHER than you need to remove the leather from the seat to property replace the emblem.

Fafter they came loose I pulled them out and both of them still have the little 'legs' on them but it looks like they need to be slid in from left to right into some sort of slot. Right now they are just held in by the leather itself. So there is no way to get them back in without removing the leather?
And thanks for the info about the door insulation!

These are 6k all around with LED parking lights and LED sidemarkers. The lights look kind of greenish but I assure you, they are the same color as my headlights.

Ooo, love the interior lights, i'll have to do that too!
Did you head/fog/parking lights require any special wiring/ballasts or were they just bulb replacements? Any Errors? Looks really good.

I bought all my lights from JLC Lightning

everything including the interior lights were direct replacements except for the fog lights. you need a kit to make them HID

The retention system is a lot like a two hole paper prong system.

No the go in straight and then bend once through the retention piece to hold the emblem tight.
That is why you need to remove the leather from the seat frame to do it.

Grrrr,
Is there a war to remove and re-secure the leather without taking it into an upholstery shop? How is it attached to the seat frame?

Yes, I did mine myself but I will tell you its a pain. You need to remove the seat belt tensioner adjustment at the top of the seat to start. Then some molding. There are also several plastic fasteners inside the seat that you will likely break. They are cheap to replace but have some on hand.
I wouldn't recommend trying this if you havent seen how these things come apart. There are vacuum lines, fans, electric heating pads, etc. that can be damaged and will need to be placed back in the correct fashion.
It's literally a rats nest in there.

Thanks man i appreciate it!
I've taken off the seat back to fix a popped vacuum tube so i know it's a rats nest in that part, i could just imagine what the front of the seat's innards look like
I may give it a go though

No Problem, I always say go for it, if you mess up then you can pay someone to fix it, but if your handy more often then not you will find that you can fix it yourself.
Good Luck,

When I get a chance I will check and see if I can find a diagram of the parts in the seat and or a removal process. I have a few things I can check like Mitchell On-Demand. I can give you a good idea or the estimated time as well.
BR34K3R
Edit: Here is the diagram: You need part number 2309100011 about $55

I'm attempting the same fix but can't get past the vacuum lines. The unit is fixed with fasteners that look like they need a Mercedes-star-tipped screwdriver. Anyone managed to take it off - what did you use? There's no mention of this in WIS.
Another question. The badge on my passenger seat sits deep and tight. Is it attached to a leather cover only or the underlying whatever-it-is-there too?
Thanks.

I didn't end up replacing anything accept for the exterior bulbs so i don't have the part numbers but those on eBay look right to me
Do you by chance have the part # for these? Looking to swap mine out for 5000K ones. Found this, but not sure if it's all correct... http://www.ebay.com/itm/300799584116...84.m1438.l2649
