Does the ABC Suspension Struts of a W221 S class fit a W216 CL Class???
Hello:
I think I might need to replace the front passenger strut of my CL 65....
Can anyone tell me if the W221 struts are the same and they will fit..??
Also, any place where I can get them at a more reasonable price..??
NOTE: This is based on being both ABC struts, not Airmatic.
Answers appreciated.
Regards

Correct!
To the OP. ABC, Active body control is the modern day high tech implementation of Anti Sway Bars. It is independent of the traditional Spring/Shock or in mercedes implementation AirMatic suspension. ABC, always was a high pressure hydrolic system, Hydraulic being that is uses fluid and air pumps . The Hydraulic system in ABC operates at a fairly high PSI of around 3000 PSI if I think correctly, which needless to say involves precision everywhere as a Mercedes does. (assembly, maintenance, quality parts, yada, yada)
AirMatic is a way of combining the Spring and the shock into a system that uses "Air". All of the S550's have Airmatic suspension. The individual order option ABC is just that , it could be ordered independently, but was meant to enhance the stock Airmatic suspension
My 600 has ABC and it is a closed system.
