soon to be CL55 AMG owner

Have enjoyed looking at the beautiful pics everyone has posted!

At the end of January I'm getting a 2006 CL55 AMG with 26,000 mi. It's been owned by a family member and meticulously maintained. I have sentimental attachments to my E430, but can't resist moving up.

I don't know what the standard warranty includes (4 years OR 50,000 mi?). Is an extended warranty recommended?

Thanks!

Might be a good idea. Parts for this car are very expensive. Besides that, it's by all means a dream car. You will loose your sentimental attachment to the E430 before you hit third gear on your very first trip in this car. Enjoy!!

Thanks for the reply--my mechanic said the same about parts, and I plan to keep this one for at least 5 years. Will call Fidelity and see what deal they have.

Appreciate it!

Will do, and thanks!

Got my first quote from carchex. Bumper-to-bumper, 4 years/75,000 miles $5900. $100 deductible. Not inexpensive. Will definitely get some more quotes.

AMG GTS
Buy it

My first repair bill was close to the amount. the second would have surpassed it.
Get the warranty.
Fun, beautiful, but damn expensive to fix.

I talked with Bruce Mendel at Beck's Imports and have done lots of reading in the forums here, and i think it's a no-brainer. Found a better price through him, too. He said my E430 would seem like a Honda Civic by comparison

The car is getting shipped from Texas end of January. CANNOT WAIT!

Make sure it covers the ABC system and hoses. If not, I would't buy the warranty since that will be 90% of your repairs.

I wonder how he found a company that will even cover the ABC components. Most that covered the CL in the past no longer do so. Make sure it is a really good company or you are throwing your money away.

Hi there. I am new here and still doing alot of reading. can you share the extended warranty info? I will be needing it soon. Strongly considering getting an 04 Cl 55 AMG soon!!

For sale by dealer. Previous owner was a MB mechanic and the car has been taken care of. Carfax certified and clean title. I have seen the dealer service records.

Should I be concerned with the 110k miles? These vehicles are capable of much more than that right? What should i be checking out? Any help is appreciated.

the waiting!

My CL shipped from TX Wednesday but got stuck in snow storm Friday two hours south of where I live. Wanted to drive down just to stare at it on the truck Supposed to get it Monday if weather cooperates and will post pics. The waiting is seriously killing me.

Regarding warranty, it still has the extended MB warranty good till September 2013, so will renew after that.

Thanks for all the great info here.
