Anyone here interested in getting a custom set of all LED tail lights for the W215
Sure when you brake, the top portion glows in LED. I have a 1 off set of tail lights for my car the way I designed them and have yet to ever see a pair that ever resembles mine. The turn signals are LED and it cleans it up much nicer. But the bottom portion/running lights are still lit by 2 plain red bulbs. ....Even those I replaced with LEDs, but jus doesn't look as right...
I spoke to some people months ago to make me a set, but he said there was no market/interest for such a nice car
I even when as far and tried to buy a set of these upgraded entire LED W220 tails you can can get, where the running light portion and and brake lights all illuminate in multiple LEDs. Seeing as they basically run the exact same internals except that the CL's outer mask shape has more length on the side.....the internals are the exact same size.....thought that could work....but that didn't work for my own DIY project. It was nearly impossible to separate the housing from the unit box.
SO what I'm proposing is to get these guys that make the all LED tal lights fo for numerous modes (W220, S, CLK, SLK, E, C, ML etc...) to make us a set for the W215 CL. They would come with built in resistors of course to just plug N play. It would really clean up the rear visual aspect when the tail lights are turn on
So here's my idea.....get some sets made that the entire bottom portion when the lights are give off a definite new refreshing look for the rear lights:

Notice how there's over/around 20 LED's that turn on on the bottom portion rather than the standard/dull 2 basic plain bulbs.
What do you guys think? Any interest? Shouldn't be more than 400-500$ a pair.
IDK, little touches just like that give off such a cool difference. Or even if we could make the stripes in the back some sort of running lights and still work as turn signals
Thanks for your interest/input

What I'd be more interested in hearing is if you can get someone to make one off LED tail lights for your car the way you want. The reason being is I'd like a set of LED tail lights for my R Class but no aftermarket company makes them. OEM did do a facelifted tail light in LED but it's a different shape from the pre facelift! It's too difficult to get them to work so I'd rather get someone to make something if it's possible without paying too much for it.
Best of luck!

The SC300 kit above is $2500 which is worth more than my car. But its quality and top notch. I would have no problem forking over this kind of moolah for this mod.
Cincity designs was another one, but they went belly up.

I would have thought you would have called them by now with your AMEX black handy.
It will be interesting to see what they develop for the CL
Ive always liked the new CLS lights. Id be surprised if these guys couldnt pull it off.
A lot of Lexus SC guys are put off by the cost, but people will pay $500 for a set of 97 and up tailis. Whats another $1500?

I had a creative guy in Brooklyn make these for my RX7. It actually only cost me $420. He wont make them anymore though. He got a call from NHTSA.
