Quaife LSD for CL65 - a special run for us

Would there be interest here for the CL65 owners to have Quaife build us the LSD that would fit our diff housings? The current QDF9V does not work for our cars, even though they list it - it _will not_ fit, it works on CL55/CL63 diffs and those are not the same as 600/65 diffs.

The minimum run they will do is around 20 units.

Marcin at Speedriven is working w/ Quaife on this and has 5-6 folks interested. He said he'll stock some units and if we can get 10-15 folks interested here, maybe we all can have one of these, similar to what's sold for the 55s:

http://www.phantasmusa.com/quaifeqdf9v.html

Please respond to this thread if there is interested - and please work with Marcin on the pricing.

Is the same unit is compatible for both the W215, and W216? Either way maybe if we start a list we can see if there is any interest.

1. CL55 Serge
2. Bromaguire?
3. RaceHorse

Same for 215/216 CL600/CL65 M275 TT cars. If you got an old CL600 that's naturally aspirated, it will not work. I will check if it will work on 220/221 S600/S65 sedans, I believe that would also work.

I'm hoping we can generate enough interest - this thing is much better than the Kleemann setup and does not have the maintenance/wear-tear issues of O.S. Giken, plus it's price effective.

Mines a W216 TT V-12 with the Speedriven ECU/TCU and traction is a problem. I've had a Quaife LSD on my M3 for a few years with zero problems, so if its possible to get this made for our cars I'm in.

Current list of interest folks is:

1. CL55 Serge
2. Bromaguire?
3. RaceHorse
4. Xabo

I will volunteer my car's diff as a guinea pig to send to Quaife for R&D. I'll post to the 220/221 and the SL forums to see if there is interest there.

is the transmission the same? W216 CL65 vs W215 AMG CL65's
Can we double confirm?
Does ESP just automatically work with the extra traction?

I'm told it's the same since MB moved to M275 engine on both CL and S. SL is different.

quaife LSD order

I would love to buy Quaife for my CL65 count me in if the price is reasonable, this car without LSD in my country is nonsense because of the weather and asphalt condition. What about the pricing and to whom to post order and down payment?

[QUOTE=CL55_Serge;5495187]Current list of interest folks is:

1. CL55 Serge
2. Bromaguire?
3. RaceHorse
4. Xabo
5. NRL?
6. Bai Ilia?
7. Zax63?
8. pas?

I know you said 10-15, there were 8 that responded with what seemed to be serious interest. Do you think other performance or tuning shops have interest in stocking a few? They may have customers that aren't on here. Any others??? If you don't think you need one then you are truly not driving your car to its capabilities.

Sounds like we have 9 people... Can we get this to happen? I'd be willing to put down a deposit for mine.

...............So get a 65 rear and put your name on your list. By the time you finish your build your stock 55 rear won't have a fighting chance.

Serge, any word on if we can make this happen? It looks like we have over ten people interested at this point.
