How to: Reset yout ECU; learned driving habits / shift patterns and throttle response
#26
"1. Turn the ignition key to the on (not start) position."
"3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal."
What if my car has the KEYLESS-GO option?
Thanks.

A little off topic, but does anyone's transmission stay in the higher RPMs after a hard acceleration to say 3rd or 4th gear. Then it takes a while off throttle before it shifts to the next gear for normal driving. ???

It depends I would think on what mode you are in.
2nd gear starts shift differently than 1st gear starts and of course if you are in manual or race mode it will be different.

What if there is a Peddle Commander hooked up for the throttle sensing adjustment, will this effect the reset or just adapt to the PC settings, thnks
I am assuming that it doesnt matter which setting the trans is set to as far as S/C/M (AMG)

I have no clue what you are talking about. This ECU reset method goes back through many of the 13 models of MB cars I have including the current car. If you have some doo dad after market part connected to the throttle position sensor who knows.

This might be beating a dead horse.
I know this thread is old, but I had to at least search Google for an answer. Here is my senerio. My car is tuned "eurocharged " on a 83mm pulley, it exploded on my brother right before I bought the car "w211 e55 amg" he sold it to me with the stock pulley on it and I have been driving it with no issues. I assume it just runs rich. I bought and installed a 83mm to get it back to where it was. Will the reset work for the added boost now that it has the proper pulley on it? Or will the ecu pick up and adjust based on daily driving? Thanks in advance for any info gentleman!
