Also, the leather in the newer CL are not soft to the touch, and have a cheap feel to them.
The only knock on the W215 is the dated design, overall its stand apart from its competitor at the time. The W216 doesn't stand out enough. Also The Newer CL65 utilized the same engine and transmission as the W215
As to the leather in my CL600, I think its nicer than my Maserati's (which is the same as Ferrari's). I personally don't think anyone who's not worried about budget would choose the W215 over a W216. I bought my CL600 because I thought it would be a little more low key for my DD but I get as many looks in it as my Quattroporte.

I said in my opinion. I dislike the looks of the new CL. The interior is asymmetrical in such a way That it really turns me off. There maybe technological advancements which of course would be welcome on the w2 15 platform, but style means a lot to me. If I don't absoluitly love looking at my car I don't want to own it. That being said I also prefer the supercharged engine over the turbocharged engine.
Any comments on which car holds up better to old fashioned hard driving? Not that you're hammering the car everyday, but moderately agressive driving on the highway or in the city.
For a DIY, is it easier to maintain the 55, the n/a 63 or the TT 63?
Thanks!
And between the cl55 and 63 deff will go with the 55 cheaper and that motor never dies and easy to maintain
In reference to the motor never dieing, is that why som CL55s with high mileage, I define as 75K miles plus, still command premium prices?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Won't be going 155mph any time soon....
And I seen this cars hit 200k and still run like was new never lose power . But the 216 is a nice car as well but ur talking half price difference between both cars.
215 has that real mercedes look and body lines are just priceless

Good to know about the mileage...makes me feel more comfortable about buying a 55 with over 75k on the clock.
Can you tell me, are there any years to "steer clear of" the 55?
Thanks!

the 216 will be replaced with redesign no matter what they call it in less than 16 months.
i'm thinking of buying an 08 cl600 for my wife but for 25k less can get an 05 CL65 (still with warranty)
