Rim and Tire for daily driving (TRACTION)

I hate the fact of no traction EVER in my car. I run 20 inch wheels and always seem to spin no matter what. You can't really feel the car until you put all that power down to the ground. I want to get a nice wheel setup to drive around daily. I rather stick to 19 inch but is there a tire that can help me with some traction at least. Or if I was to go with 18s I love how the CCW Classics look but I heard they don't cover the Brakes at all on the 55K AMG Brake Kit.

Any ideas?

Thanks

KAMIL

The CCW classics look terrible to begin with and now you want to put them on a classy car like the c l? I have a supra and every guy on the forum runs them and they look terrible on that car. I personally think that the 18's will look too small. I personally run a 20x10.5" wheel on the rear with a 305 sized tire. I get better traction that the 19's with the factory sized 275's.

I'm guessing with a 20inch you get same trAction like me. Is your car stock? I have work done and car is going under the knife for more. I know that 18s are way too small for a car my size but 19s and 20s are far from a traction size wheel.

Ya. My 65 is stock for now but even with the 20's and the 305's, it has way better traction than the 275 19's I had. The problem with these V12's is that they make so much torque down low. Its hard to put any tire under it and expect it to hook unless you run drag radials.

As far as the CCW Classics clearing the brakes; it will be highly unlikely. The Supra guys have to run spacers to clear their brakes and the CL55 has way bigger brakes than the supra.

I figured the Brakes will be a problem. Plus the car is such a big car to run only 18s it will make it look funny I guess. I have 20 inch replica AMG wheels on it now and like the way they look and sit, the only big issue is Traction. I have 18 inch drag radials that I will run at the track when the car is all ready. I'm signed up for the 1/2 mile event here in Chicago and want the car to have traction there. I think I will have to use my 18 inch radials with maybe a 18 inch wheel in rear. I rather have something matching that I can use every day however and enjoy some of the power of the car.

I truely understand. Sometimes its frustrating but I look at it as giving the other guy a 2 second head start. I love reeling them in and blowing right by them. Goodluck in your search for traction.

Hmm, i have 18" wheels on my CL 55K and i like the look actually... Sure 20" would be better, but lot of people had bad long-term experience in German forums with wheels bigger than 19" on the C215 series.
However traction is an issue on my car too.

Here is mine on current 18" AMG winter wheels:
