OUR AIR RIDE/SHIFT solenoids
Hello guys. I have a question as i am about to drop my car about an inch or so. Can anyone tell me on our CL55 the switch that raises and lowers the car
has 3 positions, how much travel is in that? from low to high? in MM???
I have 20's on my car an sometimes when i drive on highways i hear a rub here and there nothing major. I bought adjustable links on Ebay and would like to set it up where if i raise my car to highest position i want it to be about
.25 inch higher then my lowest setting now. Please chime in. Thanks!
Also did anyone change their 2 shift solenoids in the tranny? and what did they do for the car???

there is no air ride on your car.
you should not be rubbing with 20s if offset is correct and you are not running anything wider than 295 (some say 305).
you might be already lowered.
keep in mind that abc will lower additionally a bit (3-5mm) your car twice at speeds- once at approx 60 mph and one more time at 110 or so.

But my question is the travel of the suspension from low to high if anyone knows. Thanks!

Thanks alx,
I didn't realize the system lowered twice !!
I would (thread starter) calculate lowering your car in a different manner.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Additional info for you guys. If you lower your CL with a lowering module it bypasses the lowering of the car at 60+mph. You always maintain your lowered height. If you lower the car the cheap and improper way (washers, links etc), your car will still lower itself more at 60+mph. Only the lowering module bypasses this feature.
