what is the best warranty company for 08 cl63
I purchased a Fidelity extended warranty from Bruce with Becks Imports on this forum. I think the details were 5 yr/60k mi (from day of execution), $250 deductible, $6300 cost.
By the time I get my car back from a dealer visit tomorrow (at ~50k mi) I should be pretty close to Fidelity having paid out my original $6300 expense in repairs over 3-4 visits for various things. There have been times where they didn't cover the full amount the dealer charged but overall I've been pleased. For the next 3.5 years and 39k miles I should be money ahead.
I actually didn't have any warranty claims until 4 months after getting it. Figures below are after my deductible of $250 per visit.
-Engine & Transmission mounts (34k mi) $648
-Replace TPMS sensor, replace inoperable rear sunshade mechanism (35k mi) $2069
-Replace ABC Pulsation Damper (40k mi) $1239
-Replace door handle (45k mi) $595
Total above is $4552. I don't have the figure yet today for replacing Voice Control Module (causing speaker problem) and Brake Pad Sensor Control. I am told that it is quite expensive and the visit will push me close to my total $6300 cost.
Most of these items are small items that don't seem that important and I would acknowledge that without the warranty I might not worry about some of them. However, when it comes time to re-sell the car it is important to have all of those things taken care of.
All in all, I would not recommend owning the car with no coverage. I bought it for the purpose of protecting against a catastrophic issue like engine/tranny, or other expensive things like Air Suspension, etc. Considering how expensive the little items are, the cost of a major repair would just be ridiculous.
Considering that I will break even on my investment after 16 months and have 3.5 years/40k miles to go, I think it has been a fantastic choice. Fidelity has been quite good and I also feel very confident that this car will be far more saleable with the warranty when I get ready to sell. The big concern with an older highline car is the unknown expense of owning it and this helps give the peace of mind needed.
I'm not sure of the current pricing and availability of Fidelity but I would definitely get on that right away, contacting Becks Imports on the forum. Different plan options are likely available (deductible, term, etc). I am 100% confident you'll be glad you did.
As for your question on it being too much for a warranty...it appears that you get what you pay for. Fidelity is in the top tier of rated warranty providers, charge more, and cover more. No hassle. The cheapest warranty out there would be a bad choice.
Just do it...

Please report back how pricing may've changed since my purchase. It would not surprise me if it is higher but it is still needed protection.
