Help with Price for my sale 2005 CL65 AMG
I am working on another project and feel its best to pass on my 2005 CL65 AMG to someone who will love it as I do. High mileage at 140k with no issues. ABC pump was replaced at 84k and the coils & plugs at around 95K. I just replaced the engine and transmission mounts last month. I also installed electric cutouts about 3 months ago. The car doesn't leak a drop of oil. I'm a tune up and driveability tech and have worked in dealers for almost 30 years. The car runs perfect, with no issues. I bought the car from a man in his late 60s about 2 years ago. The previous owner owned the car approx 60k of its life. Its been my daily driver.
Can you give me an evaluation ? Real life value to ask.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Thank you John

I recently had my CL65 for sale locally for $37900 with 75000 miles on it. The low ***** I was seeing was mind blowing. A guy offered me $15k "cash" due to the high miles on the car. I told him to stop emailing me and **** off.
I think a reasonable price would be list it for $27500 and let it go for $25000.

Trade in 13k, wholesale 15k, private 17k, 19k retail
There is no "2" in the beginning of the realistic price for this car
Oh, and a car like this with cutouts- I would not touch wih a 10 foot pole.
I know this is not what you want to hear, but you asked so there you have it...

This is a very tough sale, as you can imagine due to the miles on top of the lack of a market. I think 100k mile cars have sold close to the $25k price. Cars in the 8x,xxx flirt with high 20's low 30's on ebay. I would suggest listing +/- $23,500 and be happy getting $20k. Also this may be a car that sits a long time waiting for the right buyer to come along. If you don't have the luxury of waiting, then you will have to expect less. As mention make those cut outs go away and make it look stock. Who wants to think of a 140k car that was beat on even more. Hopefully you find all of this as constructive. Good luck.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm really interested in the cutouts. I'd love to get more information on that and maybe a video or soundbyte! Always been curious how this car sounds with cutouts somewhere in the exhaust.

A high mileage example of a car known for high maintenance costs needs to have a full service records to back up a claim of "no issues". If the owner can produce the docs and pics showing that vulnerable areas are holding up well (driver seat leather ...) it could still get more than twenty grand. Otherwise ....
