Is there a reason why you cannot turn a w216 AMG rotors? Mechanic tells me its because of the ventilation holes but I had my rotors turned on my 2004 Murciealgo and everything came out fine.

hmmm how many topics are we going to have regarding rotors, being that you owned a Lambo and have some nice cars in your stable I don't know what the issue is about dishing $1500 on rotors

mb guidelines strictly forbid turning amg rotors.

from my own observations though- you certainly can. but on a 5000 pound car with lots of pistons upfront- why risk it?

Well i'm sorry but if you can afford a used $60k+ 63AMG car you should be ready to spend some $$$ on a brake job.
I paid less then $20k for my CL55 and was ready to pay if the ABC system took a ***** which it did I changed all 4 shocks and P/S pump in the last 6 months $6000+ I *****ed and moaned but I knew before I bought the car that I might have to open up my pocket and pay(which I did). All im seeing is every 3 topics on this forum you open up new threads regarding brakes how much, can they be cut, can they be changed, can they be rebuild....

P.S. the reason I said $1500 is because I can get 2 front Brand new OEM rotors for that much pads are about $100

Look bro not sure why you are starting a pissing match here. I'm sure if you could have spent 3k on your repair and not 6k with a bit of research you would have. You want to bash me for for utilizing the forum as it should be and looking for answers then **** you. If your not contributing anything to this thread then take a hike.

Ok lets get back on topic here, YES you can switch out the rotors, please make sure you test it out tough, go to your nearest highway do about 150mph and hit the brakes really really hard....

Yes ROMEO550 I work for a Benz dealer so I can get good connect on those rotors for pretty much everyone except anton28 since he is going to switch out his existing rotors

Glad were on the same page AndreNY

Fro the rest of you guys, this community is already small enough and there is so little information going back and forth as most CL owners don't even bother joining the forums. What ever the outcome is to this thread, or any of my other threads, in the future, someone else will be searching for these topics and will find the answers they are seeking here.

wow at shipping. didnt check it out. those must come from germany for us US folks.

still, in my mind there is no difference between $1500 and $1800. it is a far cry from the 4k the dealer has quoted.

we are not talking toyota camry here.
