Stalls at idle

For a month now motor runs a little rough; intermittant misfire at idle, and an occassional stall after coming to a stop. On one occassion the engine was left idling, then the rpm's went low followed by a sudden high idle that quickly went to idle rpm. A fresh fuel filter was installed last week but misfire continues. Today, left office, drove 1/2 mile to a bank ATM, left idling. It stalled and would not start. After 30 minutes of several attempts to start the motor, I walked away for 20 minutes then returned and it started, but with CEL on. Drove the 5 miles to home. Stopped motor then started it with no problem. Are we leaning to a worn 120k mile fuel pump?

Sounds like the crankshaft position sensor. Cel coming on is good because now you scan the vehicle and find out what the issue is.
