E 63S Wagon Renntech, E55 Renntech, SL65, SL 55 030, ML, bunch of old ones--they come, they go...
216 windshield....
Does this windshield have some type of coating, or is it double pane, or...I'm just wondering before I direct wire my V1. Anyone have any experience here? Thanks...

The 215 does have a coating. There is a safe transmission area around the rear view mirror and also a rectangle on the lower right side of windshield. You can see it in the right light. The owners manual talks about this.

The W216 CL65 has a laminated windshield and it also the areas mentioned above for transponders, detectors, etc.

I just noticed this today while drying my car. Is that what the square on the bottom center of the windshield is meant for, transmitters?

Good to know thank you.

Anyone have better luck W/ a radar in that area versus higher up? I mount my V1 below the mirror for wiring and supposedly it reduces hood glare
