CL55 Coilover Conversion
Hey Guys,
I'm interested in doing a coilover conversion on my '03 CL55 as I'm sure everyone in here knows the ABC system is a piece of sh*t...I was just reaching out in hopes that I might find someone else who has done this procedure and can provide any insight or tips on the process. Also, I've only been able to find a kit from Strutmasters. Is there a better one anybody may know of?
Thanks,
Nate

Geez the lack of guys that have heard of the solution here is discouraging.
Check it out:
https://mbworld.org/forums/s-class-w220/589753-coilover-conversion-kit-s55.html
-A set of strutmasters struts and maybe the light fix module
-S500 front swaybar (need to drop the rear subframe to install rear swaybar)
-S500 power steering pump and reservoir
That's it.

The front ABC lines need to be removed to gain access to mount the sway bar. There are also some ancillary lines needed for the power steering conversion.
As for the rear sway bar, you will need a W220 subframe, as the W215 subframes don't have the necessary mounts on them.

You also need the S-Class lower control arms so you'll have a place to attach those sway bar end links.
And for my own curiosity can you just remove the lines that run under the engine and cap off where they attach to the other abc lines? Q

I believe the lines that run towards the rear of the car are in the way, but I don't remember 100%. The pulsation damper and pressure relief valve definitely are in the way of the sway bar.
