You have been muffler-less for a while, are you catless now? That may explain all the happy faces. Lol... Cold starts and WOT sound so mean. Enjoy.

Yep. Only drawback is my gas mileage is going to drop because I can't stop manually shifting or stay out of the throttle. It just sounds amazing, especially at WOT.

Nice, are you running the stock air boxes currently? I think you will notice with the CAI tubing that it continues to pull harder over 4,000 rpms. BIG difference when the car can breath. I grabbed a little 100 octane yesterday and at 58 degrees it was hard to stop smiling. Enjoy the fun, I think you will justify the fuel consumption. Stop trying to level the tables you are already quicker than me. LOL

On the street I do run stock air boxes. Got a few repairs to do, then install the killer chiller before another dyno session followed by racing season. Hoping to skip past 10.6's.

Besides, you've added a bunch of mods since your last track day. I can't just wait for you to leapfrog past me on "the list".

I've seen videos of them on YouTube and trust me, a video doesn't do it justice at all so I haven't bothered. I have loved the quiet power of the car since I got it, but now I love the sound even more. When quiet, I doubt many people could appreciate the music made by the v-12. Now, I doubt it will be mistaken for a v6, LOL.

I totally understand, with much respect. Did you end up getting the separate drag pack killer chiller? The down pipes not only feel faster it just sounds faster. I remember playing with a mustang with my stock exhaust and I had to look at the tac since I could not hear the engine at all. I wonder how much the mufflers really do since cold start is really loud and gurgling with downpipes. I hope to have some new results in the next month or so. The track is always the true measure. You are right, the sound has to be witnessed to appreciate.

Yes, I got the drag pack or the killer chiller. Rear wheels are widened to 9.5" and I'll be running 285/40-18's M/T's for better traction too. Hope you set a new PB when you go out too. My first track day will be Memorial weekend. The stock mufflers looked pretty free flowing in design when I cut them off my car so I doubt they restrict it much.

I wonder if you can squeeze a 305/35/18 on the 9.5". I know it's pushing it,but much better height, hopefully the 285 isn't too tall. I'm sure you did your homework. I just got another set of 265s, hope the decent prep is enough for them to stick.

Your worst nightmare...
I did it and never looked back. Only draw back was the fumes, other than that great mod.

The 305/35-18 is 26.6" tall and really wide for a 305. The 285/40-18 is 26.9" tall, nt far off from the stock front height and circumference. If it doesn't hook with the 285 I may try a 305, but I suspect they are just too big to fit in the CL's wheel well.

As far as fumes, I notice it when I back into my garage, but it is so mild compared to my Lighning's exhaust smell it is no big deal. The L had cams with lot of overlap and only pulled 9" of vacuum at idle. Combine that with narrow gapped cold plug to deal with 24#'s of boost and it was hard on the eyes and lungs when pulling into my garage. The CL is not bad at all.

Absolutely, the CL is moderate. I also had the scented vent things to help with some of the smell. Very mild indeed and manageable. Enjoy the free power.

Cell phone recording of a warm start and little rev. Turn up the volume with some good speakers!
