Tire/ wheel question

I am looking for a tire wheel combination for a W215 CL65. I want to run a 16 inch slick, but have not found if a 16 will fit. Help a newb out with recommendations, please.

I run 18's and drag radials at the track. If you are running on a prepped track drag radials are all you need, and a lot more stable than full slicks. See video in my sig. First pass is a no prep day on 90 octane. Others are T/T and bracket race passes.

I read a lot of your posts, Dr.Matt. I hope to have mine running that strong soon. Gotta get it home first though. Lol

How much boost can you leave with? Is there a factory wheel that fits while running the 285s?

If the track is good I stall up as much as the foot brake can hold. If the prep is bad you just have to find the sweet spot. My car came with replica wheels when I bought it and the offset is wrong so even 275's rub on them. My Niche Essen 19x10's clear 285's, as do my 18" Essen's. The 18's were only 8" wide so I had them widened to 9.5". Stock 19's should be fine with 285's though.

Have you CL600 and Cl65 owners considered rolling the rear fenders an inch or two to accommodate wider meats?

I'm not willing to alter the body on a CL65. I would if it was a cheaper car, but not one of these.
