Identifying oil leak source
Just purchase a 2003 CL55 AMG 74k two weeks ago (seller appeared to have changed the oil because i checked it at point of purchase) Noticed oil on garage floor. Looks clean and it looked yellowish. Checked motor oil down a quart. Can’t see any oil around the top sides of the engine. Climbed under as far as I could but can’t see anything due to plastic shields. Oil however was slightly dripping out of an opening in the plastic and oil appeared be moving towards the drivers side struts.
Plan on bring to Benz dealer (known entity) or unknown MB specialty shop
Any Suggestions?

i have had 3 CL’s....and still own 2... I will say this.. the usual culprit is the rear main seal... you have to drop the tranny to change the 10 dollar part... (takes 1 min to change )... you should also replace the valve cover gaskets... and the gasket that goes on the oil filter neck...where it attaches to the block... this should help a lot...and it’s a fairly cheap fix .. if you do it yourself. ( leaving out the tranny removal). LoL

Identified oil leak
Since last post no oil has appeared on the ground but now the ABC warning light has come on and the suspension is weird.
Any thought on repairs verses coil over conversion?

I have two leaking struts on my car. I thought I would try this stuff just to see if it works before fitting coil overs anyway. I want to have reliability for the few summers that I'll be using my SL. I'm not bothered about pin sharp handling, magic carpet ride, devaluing the car etc. I just don't want a garage queen.

Looks like all suppliers are dead ends for UK buyers. Shame. This one won't ship international. Not that I wanted 8 packs anyway but I would have tried it.

No its not easy to get at all that's why I asked for a link after trying for over a week. Both links you gave won't supply. Qmi Liqseal is not a product. Qmi Liquiseal only comes up on the makers site and one US seller. That's why there are discussions about its name and where to buy it from. I give up. Its more hassle than I need but thanks for trying to help.

I would drive the car as little as possible, have the shop determine what is leaking (something is leaking, or an accumulator is ruptured). Make sure the reservoir is not low, unless you fancy several thousand to replace a ruined pump.
Before throwing additives into the system, replace any leaking or weeping suspension hoses, replace the accumulators (there are 4, 3 of which are commonly replaced), and flush ABC fluid (it absorbs water from atmosphere as well as retains contaminants, greatly accelerating component wear... you can do this part yourself easily).
Doing the above will be expensive if done at a shop, but these were 120k USD (160k after inflation) when they were new.
You can remove the suspension, but that's a sad thing to do. It's mind boggling when it works properly.

Well ya got me......I was very skeptical of any miracle cure for leaks. My ABC struts in the back were leaking slightly and I'd have to add fluid now and then so I thought I'd try this stuff. If it works I'll save a ton of money on strut rebuilds, if not, then I haven't lost anything. I haven't had to add any abc fluid since I put this stuff in. I recently got back from a 6k mile trip and checked my fluid level and to my surprise I still haven't lost any fluid, so I'm convinced this stuff really works.
