Forever FIX off your ABC issues and engine oil use
I have never been believing wonder stuff that fix all problems, but this actually prevent, and fix stuff. Read the story, is for helping you guys, i dont have money interest in this issues.
i had more SL cars than any of you guys, own now a 2007 Sl55 AMG , and a 2009 SL63 AMG IWC special edition and have the fix for the ABC issues, leaks and preventive solution, also protecting the pump with better lubrication ., both mine , do not have leak, so they treated with QMI hydraulic treatment that expand seals 1 percent only as preventive protection..
However i can guarantee you that owners of 2002 and 2006 should add leak stopper QMI that expand the seals 3%. Because if your system is not leaking now ,it is not long before that it will start to leak. . if have rebuild valve blocks, normal QMI teflon hydraulic treatment should be ok, if no leaks.
Also should treat the power steering pump. This makes seals nice and tight and lubricate the pump. In case of the leak there then need leak stopper.
also how to get the engine oil use down and expand the seals for valves and crank.
THIS do not fix worn out pump ,or cracked hoses.
i discovered this wounder stuff in around 1996 i think . and we did some cleaning of old marine engines that was smoking alot, we added a clean solution that washed engine inside clean, and after oil and filter change ,added teflon treatment for engine. after that i cleaned my diesel Chevy 6,5 liter that was smoking blue on start up and black. with amazing result, all smoke was gone forever, i had car 4 years .
sins that i started Teflon treatment on every SL car, my first was 89 sl500, engine ,gearbox, diff, powersteering, plus bottle for slowly clean intake for a hour. this car had topspeed of around 275 kmh. Sinse then i have total of 7 SL cars.
i had problem back in 2009 with leaking in both front shocks, on a 2004 model SL55AMG , 1 q or 1 liter oil was gone, Red ABC light and jumped around like rodeo horse. stopped and had a look on shocks, and oil had been flowing down both sides for long time . Added 100 ml QMI Leakage Stopper from QMI oil USA in April 2010 , i bought from Norway dealer qmi.no , and added the missing oil ,til level. ok , shocks and system was tight in maybe 3 days , and was holding its oil for next 7 years, before started sweat again, New owner added new bottle, and its sealed up again. Not changed anything exept fluid 2017 , stock pump from 2004 and all the rest is there . i talked to him short time ago .
Plus we done many other SL including my 2007 prevantive maintance QMI hydraulic treatment to slightly expand the seals and keep the rubber fresh . Problem with cars that is 15 to 18 years old ,is that the rubber dry out, QMI leak stopper and hydraulic treatment ,stop this from happening / swell the rubber so its like fresh again. Fantastic cheap and easy fix . I used this stuff for over 20 years. Same goes for engine seals , and valve seals. the 2004 went oil use down 4 times on sl55 , on my 2007 SL55 AMG ,i have not filled any oil in 14 months , and has 8000 km sinse last oil change.. Cant beat that guys. On top of that i use Royal purple race oil 10 40.
where to buy this stuff for engine and ABC for USA under . Norway ,Sweden, Denmark you can order from www.qmi.no rest europe contact me now.
For USA , seems easiest sign up on this web page and order . https://gokwikparts.com/shop/5d54169...a-b40af54da4cd
For Europe guys that has problem order , i will get some boxes now from a dealer, and can provide this whats needed. Prices in Europe is mutch higher than US
https://www.solidstart.com/product-category/engine/ this is good one, leakstopper and teflon engine treatment in one place. This is the ones that inveted the this stuff. QMI company was sold , the daughter run QMI stuff under another name,. Solidstart.

Yes ofcourse, will fresh up the dryed up seals in sylinders Vario roof. , as long as seals not ripped , will soften up seals and make them tight , i forgot say about thoose .
shake bottle for some minuts , after add, need let roof go up and down many times, so oil reach all sylinders. , Europe is no issue order and put ourself. Engine and ABC system, need do with cold engine , then drive hard 45 min .

I am completely agnostic on the matter of these additives. Still, when it comes to my own vehicles I would err on the side of caution and avoid using them. Because while they have their adherents, they also have their detractors.

sometimes works, sometimes not, unable to tell you what sticks in the engine and unable to proof that it lasts and for how long
but I have a very leaky V12 test engine, so just curious, as usual

i am proof of that this is safe and good, i done so many cars now with sweating and leaks. 11 years on 1 car should be proof enought. is no acide or harmful stuff inside this. But i done on all my cars Engine, gearbox, rear axel, not where is diff lock that cant use it. Powersteering ,ABC systems.
Never rebuildt a valveblock ,or anything else.
And is peanutt money that i have spendt all my years owning any off this SL cars. ONLY where money is spendt is tuningstuff , and one gone alternator., and i drive them hard all after engine oil temp is up .

2005 R 230 SL350 (M112 3.7). Sold the 1966 W113 230SL recently
My SLs have managed to stay healthy during the past 22 years, so I cant call myself a wrencher. But if half of what the OP tells us here is true, more or less, how come we never knew about this? Without automotive manufacturers and/or research labs coming up with hard figures I wont throw additives like these in my treasures.

workshops and spare parts managers , mecanics ,many is against because they want the money for the job. Pure experience sinse the 90 ies i have experienced this, gearbox seals leaks, why change seal, when this seal it up,and at the same time teflon treat the metal,so its less heat ?
i sold boats, Engines , machines sinse 1992 , so i know what works and not work . big cranes can have heat issue winching all day, this Teflon treatment hydraulic as example , they did delete the extra coolers they had installed. Had diesl boat owners that teflon treated engine and drive, and speed went up 2 knots, teflon treated geraboxes , temp went down and noice level down . My Sl 63 had alot valve knock , after teflon treatment ,its silent , can send you the video if like

IF you have leaky V12, would suggest 2 liter /Q Teflon treatment engine, and the small bottle Leak stopper. It would fresh up your rear and front seals, and the valve seals , plus this will protect the engine if you ever would loose the oil pressure, this not likøy to happend ,but anyway. Test and let me know. i know it would work super.

I have been trying to find QMI LiquiSeal, and have been unsuccessful. I found out it is manufactured near me in Lakeland, Florida by ITW Professional Automotive Products. They also make a product under the Full Throttle brand named "Multi System Sealer". It appears to do the same thing, and my guess is that LiquiSeal is their international brand name. Apparently, the Full Throttle products are sold to professional mechanics and garages. A retail product sold at most U. S. auto parts stores is Blue Devil " Hydraulic Stop Leak" which on their web site appears to do the same thing as LiquiSeal and Multi System Sealer. The material safety data sheet ("MSDS") for Blue Devil says its Di(ethylene glycol) ethyl ether; for LiquiSeal it's Triphenyl phosphate. Apparently, they are different formulae. Has anyone tried the Blue Devil product?

Without automotive manufacturers and/or research labs coming up with hard figures I wont throw additives like these in my treasures.
On my 2007 SL55 tuned engine, was sitting for maybe 3 years, changed to Royal Purple and teflon treated everything on that car, went for relocation 3300 km 1 month trip. looked like was coming little oil in front, suspected front seal, but not shure. After trip was done 0 leaks or oil to be found anywhere this was 2015 And last year i added halp bottle leak stopper to engine , then have around 8000 km sinse oil change ,and not added any oil, i take read of in display, just saying oil level OK. So was worried that reading is wrong, we measured with some stick down dipstick hole, and looked like level was ok.
pretty shure the valve seals is tighten up ,and seal very good now.
On my Sl63 AMG IWC was very noicy valve system, teflon treated and went for 370 km drive that weekend, and noice totaly gone. This one also got the normal qmi hydraulic tretment to ABC system for future prevent any issue, plus the powersteering system, also got powersteering treatment ..
my sl500 R129 from 1989 , got treatment all car year 2000 , every thing that move was treated, Exept the roof sylinders , back then this was not in my mind that could be a problem. had this car for 4 years, never filled any oil between oil changes . Never spendt a dime on anything else than tires and oil changes.

Can you confirm something for me? Are you using the same QMI Liquiseal in all of your applications (ABC, PS, Crankcase, etc.) or are you using the specific QMI fluids -- ie. Power steering Cleaner or Treatment or fluid for your PS and ABC?
Can you post a photo of the actual QMI bottle with the SKU you use? Thanks for the insightful post!

http://www.qmiitw.com/QMI_Engine.html https://www.fullthrottleproducts.com...system-sealer/ is all the same QMI Liquiseal .
if have old car, QMI Liquiseal with 2 Q or liter engine teflon treatment will do the trick, will make the seals crank, and the dryed out valve seals nice and tight. Engine noice will go down

I tried both, but was unsuccessful. I shall try calling the factory, but I am confused as to which products to ask for. Is the power steering reservoir separate from the suspension reservoir? Yet, they both take the same fluid. So do I ask for a different one for the power steering? Or, do they both take the LiguiSeal?

Powersteering is 1 bottle, and has its own round holder. ABC is the bigger one, If you dont have a leak anywhere, you can do hydraulic treatment for the ABC, if you have sweating or leaking anywhere ,then you need leak stopper / liqseal in ABC . Call the factory yes, to me they look like worst morons in selling this , and acess for people to buy . If you called Tire Plus and Firestone, and nobody knows nothing , better talk to manager .
