2012 CL63 Coupe: Can weak Battery trigger Engine Light?
- Is it possible that the engine light could be triggered as a result of dying battery?
- Is it recommended that I purchase a code reader and if so, which one?
- Does $350 for the Bosch battery seem correct? Seemed high to me, but the Delco was about $300.
At this point, I'm thinking of replacing the battery (which will also clear the code). If light comes back on, I'll know my hunch was wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Fun!
You can easily check the charge condition of the starter battery in the engine compartment with a voltmeter or via the steering wheel menu with the engine stopped. Figure 12 volts or less could constitute a worn-out battery. If you're really scientific, you can have a shop load test it while it's in the car.

My main battery still has some juice left in it. Should last another year.
