That could be true, I have spoken to the project leader on the M5 engine and drivetrain at BMW M, when I asked him he did not confirm anything :p
The M7 will never in a million years be made.
The car that aims at the S600 is the ALPINA B7 ( 7 series). Same power and performance as the S600.
500 Hp and +700Nm in torque@4000 rpms.gives the big 7 a topspeed of app 195 mph. 0-62 mph in 4,8 and 0-125 is in app 15 sec, that is S600 territory.
When this engine are put in the 5 series both as sedan and Touring it will be a challenge to both the V10 M5 and some of the AMG cars.
It wil also be available in the 6 series.
Concerning an M6 CSL, we all hope.
This does not look to bad either.
Here is link to a test recently made in NARDO Italy, a huge circle track used for high speed testing.
They tested the:
SL65 unlimited 210 mph,
ALPINA B7 194 mph,
Maybach V12 Brabus 196 mph,
W R32 BiTurbo Golf 200 mph
996 Porsche Turbo from 9FF 207 mph.
In addition 2 AUDIS was present also.
The reall possible speed is probably a little more than was the result on NARDO because of the G force, since they are driving in circle all the time.The track is 12,5 km long ( 7,7 miles)

The only thing i would change on the 6 is make the Front spoiler look more agressive, like the AC Schnietzer line.
Also have you heard anything on the possible return of the 8 series?

About the 8, no I do not belive it will come back any time soon. The 6 is taking its place.
I love the 8, we have one in the ALPINBA B12 5,7 version, its awsome. Its also a ++190 mph car. We have seen +200 mph indicated....

Your a very Lucky man to have an 8 Series. Its such a good all around car.

Mercedes does not really know how to make fast cars, they can do it, but....look, the new naturally aspired m5 w/ 5L v10 is as fast as a CLS55 AMG which has a bigger engine and is supercharged!

you cannot beat one in terms of class and comfort (I think so anyways)
the v12TT burns alot more gas then the cobra and is slower, mind you it probably weights a good 2 tons more then the cobra.
