Audio dropouts?

Audio dropouts?
I installed a Kenwood Keg feeding into the AUX input of my 2003 CL600 back when it was new, and its always worked great.
About a year ago, I started getting audio dropouts where the sound would go away entirely for about 4-10 seconds, then come back. It happens often a minute after startup, then randomly every 10-20 minutes. I assumed there was something wrong with the Keg, but:
I just noticed it happens on regular CD and sometimes even radio... if not for the radio, I'd assume it was skipping, but the radio rules that out.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks,
Dave

Dave:
Your problem has nothing to do with tex.msg or any add-ons. It's simply a bad chip in your radio. During my 25K maintenance I told the dealership of the same problem and they told me the "Company Line" it's my Tex.msg. I stood firm and told them my pass # and they were welcome to clear my system. They finally admitted there were no tex msg. (especially since I had never signed up tex service). They also gave me the same (Company line) BS about the chirp noise when I started up and when gears shifted telling me all the Kompressor have the chirping noise when it kicks in and I was the only one who'd ever complained about it. And the only reason I was hearing the chirping noise was because my radio volumn kept going down, that the chirp had always been there I just hadn't heard it before. LOL
Bottom line...they found the same problem on a vehicle at a dealership in Sweden and it was a chip in the radio. And they found the chirp problem on the internet and they fixed the unfixable there too. If you want to e-mail me I'll give you my dealerships service phone # and contact and you can refer to my file for the fix.
