That's within the correct price range, certainly a retail, not wholesale price though. We'll see if it comes back up on Ebay or someone can ask the seller if the car is still for sale. I think these cars are going to be a great used car value in about a year!

They are certainly dropping quick of the scale. I had my car for sale but at this point i'd rather keep it. Just not worth taking the hit.

worst depreciating car in automotive history, from roughly $200k after tax to $39k in 4 years. thats 80% depreciation, 20% per year... that has to be a record.
With that said, what a steal for performance/price.

i agree. i want to get 1 this month(silver only) with under 49kmi and still under factory warr.(so i can get extended) just sold my 02 cl55. the warr was up in january, and do not want to own a benz without one. cant imagine driving a 200k car with no warranty everyday and hoping nothing goes wrong when i start it up

I listed her on ebay, highest bid went for 41K or so, just not what I am looking for right now, I'd rather keep her.

that is so nuts, that car looks like way more than 40k worth of automobile. think of all the other cars you could buy in that price range. are they going to keep going down or has it found a basement for a while??

You will probably see them base in the mid 30s for 1 year and then drop gradually from there but since its already lost 80% of its value, the drop will obviously slow down much more from here and the base out at a certain level. over the next 2 years $30k will probably be the realistic base for a decent CL65 (not talking about high mileage lemon or something, a decent car you'd actually want to own).

You should be able to get one. Just make sure you check the in service date. Most of the 05's in service date are coming due already which will be some time in January and february 09. After that the MB warr expires and it will be very tough finding someone to put you in warranty without the factory one being available as they go by the Vin number.

For sure. I can't wait until they are permanently in the 30s, the 600s just cleared that mark after being in the 40s for a long time, just when we thought they leveled out, it seems like there's another dip in the road, and so far we can't see past it yet. This is kinda exciting! But for guys who own them, yeah it sucks big time. This has gotta be a record. I think in 6-8 months a clean one will go for 35k.
