I just bought a used 2005 with 2 months of original warranty left. What is the longest MB extended warranty offered w/o going through CPO?

There is none. If you are the original owner you can extend the MB warranty for 3 more years and or 100K miles. If you buy a CPO car from the MB dealer you can at the time of purchase extend the warranty to 3 years and or 100K miles. That is it. You will need to get a after market warranty if you want one. Do a search, a lot of post on after market warranty info.

I looked at EasyCare but when I called them I discovered that if an ABC hose fails and causes damage to the rest of the ABC system that it wouldn't be a covered repair.
A number of dealers sell Fidelity Warranty Services platinum. They cover the entire ABC system. The company is well rated by AM Best, Weiss, etc. It looks like they will continue in business.
The best rate I've found is 6yrs. 72k for $3411. There v5/60 is $2571. Both with $100 deductible.
Easy Care has a good reputation but that one major exclusion scared me away.

DAIMLER CHRYSLER....is a great option
Easycare is the worst rated warranty company by the Benz service Reps-- I have asked around and they continue to tell me the same... stay away from Easycare...

Interesting...because I use them for the extended warranty on 3 of our other imported vehicles and have not had any issues with them. I will talk to my MB service Rep and see what he says. Good advice if this is true, I will definitely question EC on this.

There really should be a sticky in one thread concerning extended warranty. I've read almost every thread on this entire board and I'm still searching for a warranty.
EasyCare is out for me due to the non-coverage of hoses.
Fidelity is leading the list so far because they have an exclusionary policy at the Platinum level, their company has a good rating from AM Best and the other rating groups. The only major flaw in their contract is that after 50,000 miles on the vehicle they exclude wear and tear caused failures. I had to research a bit but this exclusion covers a whole lot more than brake pads. My car has 19,000 now and we won't be putting more than 7k/ yr. so the warranty should work for me. I found a MB dealer that discounts this warranty heavily.
The DaimlerChrysler warranty appears to be the best as far as coverage but Daimler Chrysler Financial that underwrites the policy is in shaky financial shape:

I'd really like one of their warranties but if the company that backs it folds all is lost.

AAA won't write the CL65 but the rep recommended the Fidelity or a Zurich backed warranty product based on the finances of the companies and their claim payments. Boosted my feelings about Fidelity.

Dogshine,
That's what I'm thinking. I could get the car CPO but then 3 yrs. 100k would cost $6,000 plus at least a brake job to bring it up to CPO standards. I'm probably going to risk it to save $4,000 and get three more years of coverage vs. CPO+extended factory warranty.

I know a guy with an '04 CL500 that swears by his Fidelity Platinum warranty. Says he has had zero problems, even covered things like replacing the rear window rollershade when that went south.
