Resonator Delete
I am trying to get my resonator deleted. Can anybody from LA/OC area recommend me to a good place with a reasonable price?
Also I was wondering if this mod would void my warranty or not...and I would like to know how long the process takes...
thanks in advance

My buddy just took removed 2ndary cats and resonators off a customers car today and it sounds awesome! Really wakes the car up.
I would recommend AAA Exhaust in West L.A on La Cienega Blvd.
They did some work on my C63 and did a great job. The resonators shouldn't take more then 20 minutes to cut and weld new pipes. Its a very straight forward procedure.

Agree it was really straightforward. I did it in Northern California for I think $75. Start with just the resonators and see how you like it before moving on. The sound is especially loud at startup (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x5Yv3sIQpEY) but smoothes quite a bit out as the car warms. There is slight drone on the freeway, but not bad. Sorry I do not have a place to recommend in the LA area.

edit: I just called AAA Exhaust and the guy recommended that I put in an x-pipe instead of a straight pipe. What's the difference?

speaking of moving on, what does the secondary cats do? will it pass smog check if I remove it? and again (sorry), does it void warranty?
sorry for the newbie questions!

I've been thinking about removing my resonators also but one thing that kept me from doing it is it might not pass emissions. Those who have had their resonators removed, have you had any problems when taking it for emission?

The straight pipes will sound alot more aggressive and louder. The X pipe sounds more refined/smoother and not as loud.

so the most moderate would be to get a x-pipe and remove 2ndary cats? = perfect?

I would remove the 2ndary cats and add an X pipe. Also I would remove the resonators and add straight pipes. I have this setup on my car and I think it sounds perfect.
Here is a small clip of my car (I know its not a 55 motor but gives you a good idea) I have resonator delete (straight pipes) and 2ndary cat delete (X pipe)

Hope this helps.

Update! I got my resonators removed this morning and replaced them with 3" straight pipes.
The car sounds AMAZING. It has definitely gotten louder, but not by much. From the inside, it's become deeper and more beastly but not enough to annoy you. From the outside, well you all know how an AMG sounds like
I will try and post a video by tomorrow. My Droid camera phone won't pick up the baritone and deepness of the sound so I will try to borrow one from a friend.

Please post up pics and videos! So far everything is smooth with the removal to the car?

I think the best part of this all is coming out of school, cold starting the car, and watching everyone in a 20 yard radius all turn their heads at the same time

this is for V12 biturbo
to delete the resonator is easy, 0 costs, no pipe to buy
just remove the part, then cut the whole resonator box off, leave the middle pipe
there is nothing in the resonator nor bit pipes
only a little 4cm pipe on the side
cut that of and close it by welding
done
