Dyno mode?

Turn key to position 1
Press odometer reset button 3 times
press the up arrow button on the steering wheel until the MFD screen reads "dynomometer test"
Use the + button on the steering wheel to turn it on
You can now start the car and you are in dyno mode. There will be a few errors that show on the display, but they will go away when you use the same proceedure to exit dyno mode.

Thank you!
Do you recall the error codes that appear? It may be possible to eliminate them.
Also, does it stay in dyno mode after you turn the car off? Or can it just be left in dyno mode?
BTW, what diameter wheels are yours? Are you going to have a track rear wheel and different one for the street?
Again, thanks for the info.

no the error codes will stay because all the drive aid functions have been disabled.
yes it will stay in dyno mode if you turn the car off
on certain cars excessive driving in dyno mode will cause the car go into limp mode.

Some codes can be permanently deleted from the ECU, which I am exploring. The only codes I would want to appear to keep are low oil, overheating, and low tire pressure. I don't know which ones can be deleted if any, but have been told many can.

It is an interesting advertising technique to advertise cars have a certain level of horsepower - not mentioning this is when its in "dyno mode" - and I've never seen an owner's manual saying even that there is a dyno mode.

Wheels in my sig are 19x8.5F & 19x10R. I have a set of the same wheels in 18x9.5 on order for my M/T Dr's, but they have not arrived so this weekend I'll be racing with mismatched rear wheels. With matching wheels I'll be able to run dr's anytime, not just at the track and always be looking good.
Car is ready for its first track outing other than I never got time to put in my Line Lock. I already wired it though. Put the arming switch in my center console and when activated, my horn becomes the LL control. Turn the switch off and the horn button goes back to honking the horn.

Whatever Doc, that car's too pretty to race.

Your car hauler (trailer) is larger than my mobile home. And get rid of that Ford, they're too fast and make the CL look bad. I had one kicking my *** at the track last weekend.

Good luck today and have fun. I am curious to see what type of times you can get with the LSD . I managed a 11.34@125.93 mph with michelin PS2s and a tune with the open diff. The roll out becomes easy but expect some spin about 50 ft off the line. I'm sure you will feel like its very slow since the car is relatively quiet, but you should still get some decent runs.

Best run was 11.14@ 123.8 and a 1.67 60'. Not quite where I expected to be with decent air (DA was between 4-500'). Had a good time though. Running again tomorrow. BTW, I'm on 90 octane gas with RaceHorse, any idea what the DA was on your 10.79? What fuel were you running?

Thats not a bad run for the first time to the track with the car. Your MPH seems a little lower then I'd expect. I ran an 11.14 and 11.17 but still 1-2mph faster. My 10.79 run was in perfect weather. low 40s and -1500 ft DA. I don't have a 100 octane tune, but I use it at the track and the tune seems to adapt well regardless. I'm guessing you got your drag radials on or did you manage a 1.67 on street tires? If you have the MTs on launch around 2500 RPMs or the max your brakes can hold and you will see the 60 ft come down to 1.5x. Dyno mode and manual mode letting the tranny shift on its own running the 100 octane with no air filters and you should have a 10 second pass. Otherwise if you just leave it in drive you have a better shot of going into limp mode. Good luck.
Here is the only video run I have of my car. Loaner drag radials and the video was posted by someone I don't even know.

Yes I am on drag radials, running in manual and Dyno mode. One of my 1.67's was launching off idle, and the other was stalling to about 1500. I'll try stalling it up higher today.

Update???? If you don't break into the 10's today, I'll rent you my nitrous setup and it will definitely happen soon.

Soooooo close. Best of 11.06 @ 124 with a 1.66 60' with a DA just under 300'. I think I have the car figured out though. One more day to try breaking into the 10's on 90 octane (+Torco) tomorrow. After that I may run my VP109 tune at the track instead of my pump gas tune because I think it would run 10's consistently on that tune.
Apparently not too many people expect a Mercedes to run low 11's. Spent a lot of time talking to people about the car, which of course I hate..... ...not!
Thanks for the offer of the nitrous, but I think I'll just stick with the little snails Mercedes put on it.

By the way, how the hell did this guys random thread become your "Hunt for 10's" thread?
IMHO, I think you should start your own thread and post up all the results of the past 48 hours. Just saying.

Lol, no one told you about the special thread hijack key? Just click on "go advanced" and type anything. I'll start a thread, but not until I have time to download and add video. My wife caught some hilarious commentary by a spectator today.

There's no way a Chiropracter's day is too busy to post video of said conversation within 48 hours. Matt must have been abducted.

Lol, you have no idea... Still haven't had time to take the drag radials off the car, although I did watch all the videos my wife took of the races last night. I planned to load them on the computer tonight, but got busy with unloading the car, track stuff, pressure washed the driveway before putting away the trailer, had to replace the battery in my sons ATV. Before I could old the wheelers back in the trailer..... Trust me, the list goes on. I promise I'll start a thread once I have pics and video to show.
Here are a couple teasers
