FAILED TURBOS
Hi Guys
There was a guy on FB last night that suffered a failed turbo
His Car was plated FEB 14
If you have any loud squeals or noises take your car back to MB
There might be a recall on the turbo soon
There has been 3 cases so far

It wasn't that quick. He's referring to A45 AMG's which have been sold for almost a year already.

The below talks about a recall for some with build dates before Feb 2014 but after are supposedly ok. I would assume this is something completely different?

last night my turbo blew up the car lost power and smoke came out of the tail pipes and I'm on vacation,I'm 300miles from home and i had the car towed to my dealer now i have to get a rental car to get home.but the good news is they will pay for the and the two night stay in the hotel. because there is no rental car place open on sunday.

I'm not judging at all but that's what it is so I wouldn't post publicly that you removed the mods (or that you had them). Because it was a turbo failure (i.e., a motor-related failure), Mercedes-Benz would easily be able to deny warranty coverage due to the presence of the tune.
Personally, I seriously doubt the tune had anything to do with it given that there seems to be a turbo issue.
Nonetheless, I sincerely hope you are able to get everything resolved.

My turbo failed last week. My car was not the recall vin number car but it failed. So even dealer say that your OK I think that there is chance that turbo can fail. So I do think that AMG really have to look into all the cars if they are OK or not.
My car was delivered Sept 2013 did about 11,000 km.
Dealer changed all the oil line, engine oil, filter and turbo. I heard that the problem was the oil line.
I hope that nothing will happen again after another 10,000km.

Mercedes went ahead and replaced mine, though it was running smoothly. Said it had .1 mm of shaft play, which was unacceptable, so they replaced it.

got the call from benz the turbo was locked up there getting a new one and all new oil lines and the o2 sensor and maybe the cat they will know after they get the car running.it mite be done by wed.

This is bad news... I never thought I would see a topic like this talking about so many turbo failures on such a new car but on the other hand I was very suspecting(had my reservations) about the reliability on a turbo running that much boost from factory.
I wonder if this is more like a bad batch of turbos.
