Land of cheese
I too was at the AMG driving academy at Road America. It was by far one thing i will tell each of you to if you have the chance!
The sound of the CLA is the first thing that you will notice and then recognize as the entry level AMG. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good, but you will not mistake it for a C63. Getting into the back seat is a concentrated effort for anyone over 6'. I also was not impressed with the navigation screen, but it was due to the angle of it and the lack of ability to see in the bright sun.
Overall, there is no doubt this will be a seller. The looks are fantastic and are even better in person.

Sound
I should have put it a little more in context. I had just driven the SLK55, the E63, the C63 (and Black), the CLS63, the SL63 and the SLS for the 8 hours prior.
The greatest sound to come from a car (at least in my mind) is from the Aston Martin Vanquish. The worst has me torn between a Prius and a Yugo. Anyway, the CLA will not be confused for either of those, but it will not be confused for any of the other AMG models either.
The closest I think I can describe it is similar to an Audi 3.0 S5. Its not as throaty, it wont make the hair on your neck stand up as fast, but its not a slouch.
