If a 2012 Audi TT RS with 360hp and 332lb, DCT, and a curb weight of 3320 pounds can accelerate to 60mph in 3.6 seconds and run the 1/4 mile in 12.1@113 then I think a similar weight (maybe 150lbs more) CLA with more horsepower with 4Matic will do the deed at about the same time.
Audi purposely did not offer the DCT version of this car in America because it would out accelerate or many of the other performance cars in the Volkswagen group lineup like the Cayman S, base 911, and even the base R8.

Numbers wise, that certainly looks plausible. I see the TT RS as an angry little car, much like a 2/3rds 911 Turbo. The CLA will be softer and more refined with nods to luxury and a daily living. Sports car v. sports sedan and all. I've even heard early impressions between the A45 and CLA45 pegging the sedan as the more civilized sister...

I agree with you 100%. Like mentioned earlier the key will be the tuning ability of this motor without costly motor rebuilds and turbo swaps.

You obviously did not watch the video, 4.1 and 12.6sec already confirmed

Was going say how did you possibly arrive at that conclusion

You need to re-read this thread along with lots of other literature out there.

No idea either of current and/or past hot hatch performance, most are running low 14's to high 13's with only FWD the better part of 100bhp less power and over 50nm lesstorque than the A45.

Got my eye on one of these, but will wait until the entire AMG A Class range is released to see what else is available before buying one

Can anyone with a CLA45 on order confirm November delivery? A few timeslips in time for turkeyday would make me thankful

If this is how the US version performs, I think it is time to consolidate my CLK55 and SRT-4 and have the best of both worlds.

I believe that a recent AM car mag (CD or MT) got 13.3 out of the ClA45.

The more I hear and see of the CLA45, the more I think that is dead on. I doubt there will be too much variation in stock 1/4 mile times as they seem easy to launch and pretty consistent.

That sounds about right, with most of the runs I've seen the slightly lighter A45 runs an almost flat 13 consistantly and into the 12's with an aggressive launch control start used, those times from low 13's anywhere to mid 12's straight out of the box are quick in anybodies language for a '4 pot' powered vehicle.

Consistency in take off and acceleration is exactly what you get with AWD !

For anyone who's ever owned an AWD vehicle with decent power you'll know what I mean.

I own and have owned lots of RWD and FWD vehicles and also had an Audi TTS AWD for a while and with that car it was so easy to run as quick as it could everytime on most surface or road conditions, AWD adds a substantial advantage to performance especially in any highly powered vehicle, it's little wonder all makes are slowly switching over to it with their new high power performance models

12.9 is likely to me too.

There was another thread with a 340whp dyno which translates to 12 second territory. Times will vary based on driver skill, tires, outside temp, track prep, type of fuel (91, 93, race fuel, etc), and whether launch control is used.

Looks like we are about dead on with high 12's - Who is going to be the first forum member to post up their timeslip?

Damn! That's quick!!
What kind of time frame does AMG recommend as far as break-in? I'm excited to see members post timeslips, but it would be criminal to ignore the break-in on a 360hp 2.0L!

Anybody in California going to track their CLA45 soon? Specifically Sonoma or Sacramento Raceway drag nights ~ I would love to see a CLA45 in person at full chat!

We'd like to take ours to a full strip soon but I don't know when we'll have time, we've already posted results from the 1/8 mile but that was at Qualcomm stadium on slippery, un-prepared parking lot - a far cry from a prepared drag strip. We just took our stock CLA 45 to Buttonwillow last weekend and it did extremely well in the rain, beating the vast majority of cars out there. I don't remeber the exact times but I think it ran in the 2:10-2:11 range while fully built track cars were struggling to break 2:05.
