I am sorry but I disagree. It sounds to me like a cheap Honda Civic with a fart can exhaust. No difference to me:

^^^ Sorry, but that does not sound much better. It does sound like a modded Civic.

That crackle reminds me of an SRT-4. It sounds like a mean 4 banger though. Not at all refined. Performance exhaust should carry the right muffler and resonators to sound mean, but not raspy.

Going to be great when the c63 guys realize that stock the cla45 will be faster than their cars. With a tune, it's game over..

No amount of exhaust work can make a 4 banger sound good, sorry.

Stock? Have you been reading anything? You must've not seen both cars numbers. It'll be fast with a tune for sure...but not game over.
Current CLA45 0-60 (4.2sec)
Current C63 Coupe 0-60 (3.7sec) Sedan (3.9)
I'm pretty sure the 2015 C63 which will be out in less than a year, you won't be saying the same thing about. More power, lighter and with 4 matic! The new CLS63 4matic is doing 0-60 in 3.1.

Wow that sound is terrible. But it is a 4 cylinder, so you can't expect traditional deep. throaty AMG sounds.

I agree....the CLA45 is also a good .7 slower in the 1/4 mile. I don't think just a tune will make up that ground. The 2015 C63 with be lights out if it goes 4matic. It'll probably be a 3.3 to 60 and 11.6 1/4 mile car stock. I'm torn on which to get next.

Surprised at so many CLA/A45 haters on this forum. I actually chose the CLA45 over the C63. I think both cars do different things.

I agree! I did the exact same thing, up here in Canada, 4Matic + AMG in the CLA 45 is far more practical than the C63 AMG. Plus, I live in Calgary which is ~3500 feet above sea level which means ~10-15% horsepower loss in the naturally aspirated c63 AMG whereas in the CLA 45 AMG with twin scroll turbos compensates for the horsepower loss with altitude....no brainer!

Agreed. I'm in Toronto and the C63 doesn't make sense to me here from that perspective. Having seen and driven a CLA45 here, pictures don't do it any justice. I actually think it's much better looking than the C63.

I agree! I have not physically driven the CLA 45 but hear good things, mine should be arriving November 18!

No CLA45 hater here. I actually love the car. I put down a deposit on one until i found out the new 2015 C63 will be out by the middle of next year. 4.0 liter twin turbo with approx. 500 hp & should be able to get near 600hp with not much effort & w/ AWD...that's the no brainer.

lol ... since I live in Toronto and have a C63 i guess I am qualified to say the car is very suitable in our conditions here. I drive mine 365 days a year... with anything, a nice set of snow shoes goes a long way. Remember, there was a time before all wheel drive technology was invented... ppl got around then. Plus our technologies have improved so very much. and, there are tons of c63 owners here that drive their cars during the winter... I know as I meet up with them for snow / winter photoshoots. Snow drifting is a ton of fun without destroying your tires too much

Anyways, I think this whole c63 vs cla45 discussion is hilarious. in one perspective, because physically the two cars are around the same size, comparisons would be made. However, these two cars target different demographics. Also, just looking at the heart of these cars ... a 4 banger vs v8 (soon to be TTv6?) already shows the difference these cars are in the eyes of MB.

My sales guy / friend drove the CLA45 last night over to me so I can have some fun with it. I went through all the gears, tried tight turns and much more. My honest feedback is that the CLA is a very nice car. styling wise, it is very pretty. the cf upgrade is well worth it.... wheels could be wider (nothing a set of aftermarkets wont solve).....i really like how wide the rear angle of the car is. Engine layout imo is weak.

performance wise, its shifting times and speed is nice....actually i was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness of the gear changes. Around corners the car handled well.... even at high speeds. car was responsive when I flipped it to M mode ... shifting up and down was nice. braking power was very good (probably cause I was destroying new tires and brake pads haha)... overall a solid solid car to drive. one thing I noticed was that the window pillar to my back left is quite large... also i wished the car was a bit more stiff...being very picky, it felt a bit airy

At its price point, its a really nice car. The CLA 45 tooled up here would be 55ish k while a c63 is sitting pretty at 80-90k... so for the value of the money the cla is a great car and a great entry for people looking to get into a true sports sedan.
