Hmmmm maybe i should hold off ordering a CLA45 and wait for this. You think they would keep the 4matic on a Black Series? I would love to see a Black Series G63/G65 AMG or a GL63 Black Series

We still don't know for sure if its coming, however MB have confirmed they still have 1 more A Class AMG variant to release making a total of 4 versions, the 3 released so far are A45, CLA45 and GLA45.

If it dosn't happen at this point in time it'll most probably happen after or at the time of the types mid life update

I talked to a US Product Manager for AMG about the CLA45 and any specialty editions. He asked (rhetorically) why would he release a limited edition specialty model (like an Edition 1) to promote the 45 when it is already selling beyond production capacity and there's nothing else in the market to challenge it yet.

If there's going to be a Black Edition sold in the US, I predict it will come out once the factory has caught up to demand on the 45 and/or the Audi RS3 has reached our market...or to further distance the 45 from the S3. There's just no need to do it today.

Well, on another CLA45 thread, there's a quote from AMG head that they will be producing a street/ racing variant, so nothing is out of question. Look at what they've done over the past 6 years to the C63 for example....progressively making it quicker and faster with ltd slip and AMG development package. Give it a year or two and you'll see one for sure. It's just what they do!

usually the Black series won't come for a couple years after initially release... like the CLK, C63,SL65 and even the SLS... maybe a 2016 CLA45 Black

True, but Mercedes invented the "four door coupe" so you never know what they might be up to. Plus they can charge 20+ grand on the sane car by just adding a body kit and maybe a different or beefed up engine. And some carbon fiber parts abd it's a huge profit
