And here comes the mark up...
So I saw a CLA 45 at my local dealership. They're adding 10k mark up. I also heard one other, possibly Fletcher Jones, has a 20k mark up.
Any confirmation out there?

I'm currenty looking at dealers across greater Toronto area. There is very litte in inventory but prices are closely aligned to MSRP (a touch higher but close). Haven't actually made an offer so don't know what if any flexibility there is in pricing.

I find it a bit hard to believe that kind of mark up is sustainable. It puts the price way over a C63, which are in plentiful supply. Although lots of debate on this section of the forum, I think the C63 is a much better car for the $$ even at MSRP so adding a mark up doesn't make the CLA competitive.

i placed my order on aug 31st, and they did not mark anything up, surprisingly when i got the car, it's actual price actually went down by almost 1,000 from what they had on the first pdf file. but this could happen if ur looking for it now when it's way hot.
btw, i got mine from the dealership in las vegas and they said this is the only unit in this area, the rest will be build in jan,2014 and wont be there till Feb...
this car is getting hot!

Prince,
I tried to buy a CLA45 out of the Vegas area (from Iowa) back in September, best they could do for me was June/July....all allocations were spoken for. KC had the theirs spoken for until Fall of 2014. So happy to have my car. May need to put it on Ebay to the highest bidder!

I don't see markup's lasting long at least in the US. There are over 50 listed on cars.com already. Discounts will be had soon enough...just be patient!

Production is extremely limited at this point as the allocations get chewed up almost immediately when they release them every month. Right now if you can do an ED that is the easiest way to get a deal on the car. The CLA250 market is softening but the 45 is just going to be produced to a volume to satisfy demand here and not leave a whole lot of vehicles on the lot ready to buy at a moments notice. 1st months production was scheduled for 200 cars for the US and the second month is 250 with not much increase seen beyond that as we are having issues with getting enough engines for AMG cars at the current moment. I work for a dealer and do not like to charge markup over MSRP but sometimes when there is only one car out there and you have 10 buyers for it the best offer is going to get the car.

Dont expect mark ups to last long........
When I bought my 2008 M3 sedan when they first came out in spring of 2008, I paid sticker but they were selling on ebay for $30k over sticker. 6 months later, you could buy the car at a $5k discount. Those poor people who paid $30k over took an instant $35k depreciation hit.
MB may be behind schedule right now but I'm sure when the spring comes you can get a good discount. By then everyone who wants one will have one. This will be the most mass produced AMG ever, so resale will be the worst.
I have one on order for March delivery, I'm sure I will love the car but I wouldn't pay over sticker to get one a few months early.

Crazy, guess it really just depends on the location. Dealer back home has one sitting on their lot right now, said they may even mark it down 1-2%: http://www.mercedesbenzofnashville.c...2f6576987f.htm

Guys, this car is basically made in Hungary. It looks great and has amazing specs, but quality issues likely to be even more dramatic than other AMGs.
Wait a bit. The really "smart" buy will be 2-3 years in. Depreciation will be huge on these cars as folks figure out the repair hassles involved.
Which is why I put smart in quotes. Had to donate my C32 when the repeated trips to the shop outweighed the joy of driving it (during those rare occasions when it was actually on the road!).
No offense intended of course to Hungarians, as the country has a rich history of producing some interesting automobiles!

Welp, the one that was at my dealership sold for $15K over. Looks like people are definitely paying up over here. Right now, it's just me & 2 other CLA 45s in the area.
So far she's purrin' like a kitten.

Guess it depends on the region. I bought mine in Toronto (Kitchener, Ontario) off the lot with a $3,000 discount. Agree there still isn't a lot of supply but surprised anyone would be paying a premium. Lots of other cars I would buy at that price level before I'd buy the CLA. Just my opinion.

I was offered one CLA 45 AMG that was on my local dealer after a customer declined to buy it due to financial issues. My discount was $500 under the MSRP which I thought it was insulting (I got my C63 new for $12000 under the MSRP).
I wouldn't pay a dime over the MSRP, I mean, a dime is already too much, not even a cent. I am being told that the Chinese market is taking most of the production of CLAs however you can order a brand new CLA 45 the way you want it as MSRP but it will take 6 months (average).
Your best bet would be grabbing a C63 within the new few months, the value of the car would be great with the discounts.

Like stated above that will not last long, I have a stealer here that will get 5 cla45's in (3 spoken for) and the other 2 for the showroom so they are catching up.
Personally I will never pay a markup, I do not care what car it is as that is a stealer only benefit, unless they offer some insanely good services or warranties in for free (they do not).
Stealer in San Diego, tried a 15K markup on BMW 1m, I instantly walked away, he called me back 3 weeks later saying no more mark up and would ship it to me for free(I had already bought my 2012 STi by then). Do not fall for "mark ups"!

I'm going to take advantage of the military pricing one last time before I get out.
Should be well worth it.
Mark ups are out of Control.... I mean, the CLA45 is awesome, but it's not the god of cars....
