Looks like a jumper plug of some sort….

Install was pretty simply, just plug and play. The hardest part is locating all the sensors and hide the module but it took less than 15min for the whole install. Since we have ****ty gas in Canada, I could only run in setting "3" instead of "5" from european stock. Even it was on a slightly lower setting, 2nd gear just pulls so much better than stock. From my butt dyno, I think the CLA45 now pulls as hard as my E63 from 0-120km/h with normal start. With Race Start, the 45 is now a pocket rocket from 0-160km/h.

How many settings are there and what do they offer?

Just back from vacation. There are 9 settings in the module. Since we have ****ty fuel in Canada. Setting 3 or lower is recommended while the guys from Europe is running setting 5.

The last FL Dyno event with EC... Emerics 2013 CLS63 w/downpipes custom tune EC tune was really low in power, it would not even pass 570whp after a few hours with EC several retunes. Where Adrian's tune only RT 2013 CLS63 w/22" wheels did over +600whp on same day.

yup, most people who are doing the tune have a plug and play module that interfaces with the car. Most are using the same technology but have their own flavor of software on it.

Seems to be the common experience.

LOL at 63 cents! Actually Renntech tuning DOES void your warranty according to MBUSA. (check the amg private lounge forums) It's a common misconception as yes some dealers offer the services, but will fix the repairs on their own dime if anything goes wrong without reporting to mb.

Nice. A friend of mine just put in an order in for the CLA45 piggy back and they are going to put the piggy back on my C250 in a couple weeks.

BTW…whoever told you it was/is a "protector plug" is full of *****. Its used to bypass the tuning system. When plugged in, the system will perform in stock fashion. Just fyi.
