CLA 250
Unhappy How to deal with two cracked rims on 2014 CLA250?

I have a 2014 CLA250 which is at 97k miles.
Few weeks ago while changing lane I felt like I hit something and from then the front passenger side tire had a slow leak. I got it checked at Costco tire shop and they said that both front and rear passenger side wheels have hairline cracks. But somehow only the front is losing air and not the rear one. Anyways I took the car to America tire today and they checked only the front passenger side and took pictures of two cracks on it. They said they didn't check the rear wheel. So no confirmation on that but most likely since Costco tires said it has crack too I am guessing it will have it too. I am working on getting it confirmed before fixes.

Now the car is 10 years old and have been serving our family as primacy car for now. We are going to take the delivery of a larger car mid nov which will become our primary car and our plan was to hold on to this as back up/secondary car. We work from home so rarely need two cars. The car so far had no mechanical issues (touch wood) beside panoramic roof failing and we just manually shut it and keep it shut. The car will be worth 7-9k. KBB values it at 8k.

Mercedes does not make OEM rims of this model anymore and so my only options is to get remanufactured which is runs 450 is on Ebay. For two wheels it will cost me 900 dollars on a car which is worth only 8k now.

I am wondering how to deal with this and considering:

1. Welding: Local shops have quoted 250ish for one tire weld so this will end up costing me 500 with not guarantee of how it will go in future. I read only that welds in many cases are not successful and there is always a risk. With two babies I want to avoid any kind of structural risk with the car.
2. OEM wheels: Getting two OEM wheels and replacing with labor will cost me 1k easily which seems like a lot for a car which is worth only 8k I am wondering if this is worth it.
3. After market wheels: My other option will be to replace the two wheels (I don't care about looks as such) or all 4 wheels with something decent after market options. But I am seeing options from from 150 to 500 per wheels and wondering what is a decent option here and whether I should do this or not. Can I just replace the two wheels with aftermarket or do I need to replace all 4? Any recommendation on a decent economical optional here given this will be a secondary car?

Thanks.
