Anyone have experience with factory orders from Mexico? I've been given a rather wide range of estimates from 2 months (ok) to 4 months (too long).

The main question is why buy a car in Mexico? First, warranties are country specific so you'll be out of luck at your local dealer. When you do a factory delivery with a MB dealer here what they deliver to you is a US vehicle and you're OK. There are exceptions like for the military but don't count on it. Most manufacturers adjust the local price of a car in a particular country so that it really doesn't matter where you buy it, it's always about the same. Then you add on importation taxes and issues, geeezzzz.
