Drove a C class rental - bleh

I think it's about a year old. Been a passenger in a C, never a driver. Well, doesn't compare to the A220, the interior is second rate, engine wasn't as responsive and neither was the steering/handling.

I found a home in the A220 beyond just the normal parameters we typically evaluate vehicles on. Not feeling well, 3 a.m., need to head out to the all night pharmacy. Normally would dread such an excursion.

Got into the car, a cocoon of comfort envelops me, it's just that comfortable and effortless to drive.

the New A class feels difference at night, interior is at the toooop level, compare with A4, A5 even the new A6, and those BMW cars. very nice job MB!

A220
I wish I could say the same thing :-).

I've been in the C300 just about as much as I've had the A220. Now, the interior of the new A220 is second to none. However, the drive comfort of the near fully loaded C300 I drove definitely drove better, and was faster. (Had all the AMG bells and whistles) - I like that the A class's update grabbed the design language of the top end trim and got rid of all that crappy looking carbon fiber plastic and made thigns definitely elegant looking.

If the A Class didn't look as good as it does, I would have got a Mazda because its interior is much much better than any of the non refreshed MB vehicles.

I had a C300 for a couple of weeks and it is much larger and heavier feeling. You can't really feel the road like with the A220. Very comfortable inside but a bit boat like. You just rock with the road. I don't like the feeling at all. The sportier A220 is much nicer to drive. And of course the technology is way ahead of the C series.

A220
I had a C loaner for a week. The drive/comfort was similar to the A for me (I'm not super sensitive about those things). The infotainment system, though, looked ancient after being in the A class for a while. This was a 2018 model C class. For me, it's hard to imagine ever going back to something like that.

Still waiting to get my door fixed, this will be the third day. It's a 30-45 minute job if you know what you're doing. Oh well.
