Mercedes Benz W176 A180
Mercedes W176 A180 1.6T 2015
Hi guys,
I recently changed gearbox on my car, the original reference was 10722593 A2463702102 01 1506404212. I got a second hand gearbox with the same reference, I also changed the gearbox oil, there is no gearbox error message on the dashboard, but the gear remains on Parking and i'm unable to shift to other gears. Can you please advise on that, do i need to to code the newly fitted gearbox? My engine no is 2702091030665259 and Vin number is WDD1760422V074449.
Thanking you all in advance for your help.
Regards,
Adil.

Have never worked on one of these yet, so I might be wrong, but I think the conductor plate will be the culprit as it wont be matched to your car, you might even find you original trans had a fault with the conductor plate and just needed a replace or repair of the plate as MB gearboxes are usually bullet proof.
You need to have the new transmissions conductor plate Virginised and recoded to your car, or if your original conductor plate is ok from you original trans, you will be able to fit it without coding, if it is faulty have it repaired first then fit it, there are many places that repair these worldwide.
Not sure if the conductor plate on these front wheel drives are the same as the rear wheel drive cars, but I just changed a conductor plate myself into a W204 that would not drive after a trans swap, but fitting the original conductor plate and the car drives fine.
