A45 AMG Coming to Europe

Read about it here: A45 AMG Coming to Europe

Mercedes A45 AMG is going to a beast. AWD and at least 330hp, although the word is it'll be closer to 370hp. Of course, like everything cool that comes out of Europe, it probably won't be coming to the US. Here's to hoping though.

If you take a little tour in AMG History you can find the CL203 C32 AMG!

That was the other hot hatch by AMG...

I have one!

2003 MB C32 AMG (354HP)

Now at 410HP..with some help from Eurocharged!

Hoping to get the A45 in the US...

I truly hope MB brings the A45 to the US, as it is really the perfect car that I am looking for (if it gets a good suspension along with the great AMG engine)! I can't figure out the 45 moniker though... it definitely isn't displacement.

45 refers to the 45th anniversary between AMG and Mercedes.

Also interested in the upcoming A45 AMG

Latest info from Top Gear mag:
261kw (350hp), 450nm AFAIK that would make it the most powerful production 2ltr petrol engine made to date !!!
7spd DCT
AWD rear biased haldex system
0-100km/h in 4.6sec.

Also suggests it has superb handling and from pics it looks great too !

Hope they land in Aust. next year would like to add one along side my C Class Coupe

I agree this would be cool to bring over to the us.. But the average s class driver doesn't want to be compared or share the same car manufacture with a A class. And its a shame.. Audi gets away with it with there A5

It's in reference to AMG's 45 year anniversary in 2012, see: http://www.mercedes-amg.com/webspeci...index_eng.html

Correct, however pricing will vary from dealer to dealer and state to state here in Australia.

My dealer has given me a price of 80k as is on road without any discounting, (A45 hatch variant) adding any available options will add to that cost, I should be able to do much better on that pricing if and or when I were to pull the trigger on one (around 5k+ better) because of repeat business with the same dealer.

I'm going to wait a while though and see the whole range released first before making any decisions, also always good to wait a while after such a new model release and make sure all initial problems have been ironed out, usually a mid life update of a totally new model brings about a much better and improved vehicle with hopefully some cosmetic interior and exterior improvements as well
