Hi,
I drive Mercedes A Class - W169 A160 2012 model. The car was parked for last nearly 2 years on the drive with hand break on. Recently I took it for MOT and it failed on tail light. The tail break light is always on.
I believe this is due to hand break was on for so long it has jammed something somewhere. Could anyone please guide what I should be doing? Do you where is hand break compartment located and how can I open it? I tried to find hand break compartment but could not find it.
Thanks,

I don't believe that hand brake activates the rear brake lights, what is most likely wrong is the brake pedal switch. They cost less than £10 and you could replace it yourself in just minutesOriginally Posted by BMW169

Before ordering a new one have a look at the existing one to check for obvious damage or wear. My grandfather's Hyundai had its brake lights stuck on years ago but I just put fresh lubricant on the pedal switch and it's worked ever since
