MERCEDES A180CDI smoke from the back of the engine

I recently bought a Mercedes a180cdi 2012 109hp. Today after a short journey of 5/6 km before arriving home I felt some strange smell inside the car when I stopped at home some smoke came inside the vehicle. I opened the hood and from the back of the engine(photo) it was smoking for cca 10minutes then it stopped. What can cause this? The engine temperature was normal, a little above 80degrees.
