MB Navigation - what version maps do you have?

MB Navigation - what version maps do you have?
I recently purchased MB Navigation for my 2022 A220, which comes with a map update benefit for 6 months. I checked the version of the maps that I have, and saw they are V14.2, dated 2020. That seems a bit old, especially if they are expecting folks to pay for updates. Do any of you who have MB Navigation tell me what map versions you are running? And if newer than 14.2, did you have to do anything to get them?

Interestingly enough, I checked my 2019 A220 and it showed 2018 (V6.2). I got an email recently from MB that mentioned the following:

"A new map update is available for your Mercedes-Benz (A 220 4MATIC Sedan) navigation system."
"The update for your home region (Canada and Alaska) will be downloaded automatically over the air and installed in your vehicle at no extra charge and without any need for you to visit your dealer."
"As all authorised vehicles are updated in blocks, installation for your vehicle may take place directly after this email or up to 6 weeks later. No action is required on your part at this moment."
"If you would like to download the maps for other regions manually, please visit the "Online Map Update" service in the Mercedes-Benz connect Portal.
For this purpose you will require a desktop computer or laptop and an empty USB stick on which you will initially save the map update. You can then take this USB stick to your vehicle and install the new navigation maps in the multimedia system."

While it does mention no action is needed on my part, I recall seeing this message previously but it appears my maps did not get updated, even after the 6 week installation block. Today, I've opted to manually download the updated map and install myself. It is showing the most updated version is 2024 - V22.
I'm currently downloading the map updates and will more than likely install it tomorrow. I'll report back once completed.

Install was completed tonight. Download took about 45 mins and was transferred to a USB stick using the Mercedes Me Download Manager. Needs about 25 GB space free space but also needs to be free of any other files.
Started the vehicle, plugged in the usb stick, notification on the screen saying software update available "Tap Here". Selected North America Map and then selected update. Installation took 30 mins to complete. The system restarted and then I checked the map version and it is now V22 - 2024.
I live in a fairly new area and my street was not on the old map, after the update, it now shows my street.
I have snapshots of the screen through the entire update process in the vehicle.

Thanks for the reply. I had reached out to MBUSA and had gotten similar guidance to download and install the Download Manager. It shows that i need about 23GB of space, and a blank USB stick. So that seems the way to go.
Any idea why these don't get pushed through an over the air update? Any idea if there is a way to do that?
And what kind of USB stick did you use? My phone plugs into a USB-C socket on the console in front of the cupholders on my car to run Android Auto. Is that the right one? Do you use a USB-B or USB-C stick?

As BenzNinja mentioned, it very well could be the size of the update. Not sure if you can manually force the update.
As for the USB stick, I just used a normal 64GB USB A. I have a USB A to USB C adapter that I used to plug into the USB C port on the console in front of the cupholders.

I didn't have a USB-C stick, nor anything with that capacity, but $15 at Best Buy fixed that. I downloaded last night and will plug in later today or tomorrow.
Does the update go forward even when the vehicle is off, or does it have to be on?

Finished the update today. I did have to leave the start button in the "accessory on" position, but it updated in a bit over an hour.
Do we/how do we get notified when an update is available?

Congrats on getting the update completed.
As for future map updates notifications, I did get a email from Mercedes that mentioned that there is a map update but as mentioned previously, it indicates it will be pushed out to the vehicle or to manually download it.
