I have bought 8 new cars in the last 5 years there not to mention the amount of have purchased for my dealership.
The sad reality is 98% of car dealers are greedy shyster's. Most are very unknowledgeable about the vehicles they are selling; and unless you are a "40-50 something" man/woman purchasing a "high-end" model (i.e., SL, CL, S600, etc.) you do not exactly receive a "warm welcome", and are not taken seriously.
Regarding the dealership where I have my SL55 on order; I am looking forward to filling our my comment card--detailing everything I experienced--and sending it to MBUSA.
What I have noticed is that, now that the sales force is working
for such a small margin that there attitudes have really begun to
show the effect of not making the money they have been use
to in the past...........But the dealer now has a large hold back.
What was the expereince that you had with that benz dealer.
The sales person has provided me with less than excellent service and also does not take me seriously, as though I am not "a major player". I mostly attribute this to me being younger than him (I am 27).
He also wrote a clause in my sales contract that forbids me from transferring the order to someone else, should I decide not to purchase (the greedy shyster attitude I explained).

The bottom line: dealership's are making money hand-over-fist.
Basically, I have had to "chase" everything regarding the vehicle. Not a nice feeling when you are spending $129k for a product. I am not going to beg someone to take my money.

It's called suck it up, or find another job. I care not of their "small margin's", nor of their "salary", it is of none of my concern, or worry.
