Sent my computers off to Renntech today...

I sent my CL600 engine and trans computers off to Renntech today for their Stage III upgrade, which is 625hp/750ft-lbs

The trans upgrade apparently brings the code up to CL65 specs (likely just shift points and force motor pressure I imagine).

The car ran 12.2 stock, so I'm hoping for mid-11s.

My only complaint so far is that its $6400 and shipping is extra... you'd think they'd comp you the FedEx at that price :-)

I do all my own tuning and reprogramming on my LT1, but not many web sites set up for the internals of the Bosch system on these cars so I'm at the mercy of the Germans (Renntech sends your ecu code overseas for the actual mods).

No, I'm out of town for the week, hence my choice of this week to send off the ecus! I won't have anything other than seat of the pants unrealible info until our track opens up for real later in April.

I probably will take it to the dyno though, but I didn't get a before number. Concensus seems to be that these motors actually make about 530 at the crank stock, so that's my baseline I guess.

Hey Adam... do you have pictures of those wheels on your car yet -with- tires? :-)

you should talk to speedtuningusa.com first and save a bunch of money on the reprogramming!

I will be taking some later today when the sun goes down a bit.

I just took a bunch of pics of my stock CL55 Double Spokes, which are now officially for sale. Click the link at the bottom of my sig.

speedtuningusa.com doesn't list anything to do with Mercedes V12s.

Also, their web site scared me off with a "power box" thing that massages sensor inputs. That's not tuning.

Then, I read this:

"Caution, the Tuning Kit may cause a surprisingly high acceleration and could cause a non-alert driver difficulty in maintaining control of the vehicle."

Pretty much sure I wasn't going to talk to them after that...

Dave, it sound like your car is going to be one crazy beast. That is awsome. Hopefully you can post some vids or at least some dyno results.
