prices for HIDs have come down considerably... you may want to consider lowering the price if you can't sell it

ya i know...but I paid so much for the catz kit. It is one of, if not, the highest quality hid systems on the market. I figure some of the guys on here who prefer to put high quality brand name parts on their cars might be interested.

its like saying, i bought my CLK for $60,000.... I've parked it in my garage for 2 years, and have never driven it... would you like to buy it for $59,000? Its practically new...

what do you say to that...

not a good analogy. I bought the kit for ~$600. I am selling for $400. You do the math
Correspondingly, your example should read: i bought my CLK for $60,000.... I've parked it in my garage for 2 years, and have never driven it... would you like to buy it for $40,000?

I bought three of those kits for $375.00 last month from my distributor. I still have 2 of mine for sale at $275.00 each. They are sealed in the box,. You have to understand the selling price for these now.

You have to understand the Catz system is one of the better ones out there.. BUT not the best ones.

it does NOT have Hella ballasts nor re-based Philips or Osram bulbs.

It does have korean made ballasts and re-based korean bulbs.

See what I sold Str8ridin were TRUE hella parts. They are headache free.

Reason I am selling the other three Catz systems is because the first one I installed, (grumble) the colors shifted fast in one bulb then the other. Then it wouldnt ignite one bulb. Many problems with that particular one.

Now what you paid, and what it is sellable for now are 2 different things. I do wanna send an "Im sorry to hear you paid that much" for the catz system, too many dealers selling it for more than its worth. Dont feel bad you arent the only one.

Sorry but you have your information wrong. Catz/Bellof systems use Osram HID capsules for their 6000k systems and GE xensation HID capsules for their 4300k systems. They also utilize matsu****a (panasonic) ignitors and ballasts which are used in OEM JDM automotive xenon applications. THeir kits are manufactured in ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified facilities in JAPAN.
If HID forum were not down I would refer you to that site because there are several lighting industry experts specializing in aftermarket HID lighting who will agree that catz/bellof is superior in design, quality, performance and durability to those "Philips/hella" kits that are floating around on ebay. There is no such thing as a Philips or hella kit. Philips automotive lighting or Hella inc do not manufacture aftermarket HID xenon equipment. Those "Philips and hella" kits are manufactured in taiwan and korea (the major supplier being SiJ in Taipei, Taiwan). You can even call up Philips automotive lighting in Plano, Tx (972-712-3525) or Hella inc in Peachtree City, GA (770)-631-7500 and ask them if they manufacture these retrofit kits. Not only did they laugh at me when i called them up and asked them if they sell retrofit kits, but they told me to call them back if I knew anyone in the US who imports/sells them so they can report them to the DOT and NHTSA for violating FMVSS 108 which stipulates that anyone importing/distributing/selling non-conforming HID equipment will be fined $20,000 for each occurance.
Trust me, I researched well into this before I bought this system and I know catz is the best.

To be accurate, ALL aftermarket HID kits have been outlawed (at least in California). If the car didn't come with it factory installed, it's not legal (not even the Catz kit).

That being said the price has gone down on those kits considerably. I've seen Catz kits new in the box selling for $350.
