Average time from a new car release (and even new MY) to first delivery has been about a year for MB over the last 2 years.
Wait, what? One year sounds excessive especially since the car is already available in Germany.
Both 2024 BMW M4 and Audi RS5 are already available. Mercedes better get with the program and release this car in the US if they want to compete, or lose sales to their rivals.
From bad to ugly, to basically the only option. Nothing even close to the GT or 63 wheel options. There's a reason why EQ* models are Sports Centre Top 10 - Ugliest Mercedes-Benz Cars Of All Time. It's like they hired the same Captain America shield designer that developed the Cybertruck hub cap 😂
Thank you...I was planning to order the CLE 450 until I noticed the fake exhaust outlet (actually it's just a plastic block). Under the beautiful CLE are two very ugly mufflers with tail pipes hanging short of the rear bumper....old school! So, now I plan to order the CLE 53 abd trade in my 2024 M4!

It means dealers can configure cars and park orders in Netstar. Those orders can be moved to an allocation once one becomes available.
MBUSA configurator probably won't be available for quite few months.

Thank you.
But "quite a few months" sounds like a looong time to me. I've been waiting get one since I found out the CLE 2-Door coupe was replacing the C-Class and E-Class 2-doors, almost a year ago.
The CLE was "launched" Dec. 5 2023, how long is MB going to drag this out? Are they trying to gage interest to plan production demand? German website configurator is already up.
I guess I'm spoiled. I ordered my previous 2 cars months before the "new model year" and got them in December of the previous year. My 2015 CLA in Dec. 2014 and my 2019 C43 in Dec. 2018.
Well, I do have deposit on a CLE 53 and I've configured a car on the German website. So, I'm ready to buy one as soon as MB will sell it to me. Time to park an order on Netstar.

The shortcomings of the MBUSA website are well documented, nothing we can do about that. Your dealer can sit down with you, go over the order guide and properly configure a car for you.

MB often has long waits between announcement and sales. Two bad examples: 2021 S Class announced and unveiled September 2020, US regular production started December 2020 (about when order guides came out), sales finally in late July/early August 2021 at which point 2022s were already in production. Also 2022 C Class, announced April 2021 for Europe, US production started Sept 2021, wasn't released for sale in the US until April 2022. The C43 was even worse, started production before it was orderable in July 2022, began sales April 2023.
However, it's been getting better on some models. Example the 2024 GLE started sales just like a month after production began and the 2023 GLC only about two months. The new E Class as well, started production in September 2023 but didn't start custom order builds and allocations until around November, and it's already released for sale now. So an optimistic CLE53 release would be production starting in March or April, sales in May-July. But it could be later then that.
As for the website: that's a lost cause and shouldn't be taken seriously. use ordering guides and dealer info, the website can be a year+ out of date and with errors. Terrible.
MJP 43 , I had a C43 cab with Brilliant Blue and Cranberry , I'm curious about your CLE configuration . The blue looks exactly like the Brilliant Blue on the C43 , but I thought the Starling Blue on the CLE is much lighter ? Is this a darker picture or are the blues similar ? Thanks in advance

I took a chance on the Brilliant Blue. It didn't look great on the website but does look great in real life. Especially in the sun.
Starling Blue is lighter than the Brilliant blue. I saw the color on a 2022 C43 in the dealership. I liked it so that's what I'm ordering. IMO the rest of MB colors are pretty boring except for the Red which is also nice. And I'm just not into the magno matte paints.

It's OFFICIAL! The dealership was allocated some CLE 53's and I configured my car today with the sales rep. Estimated build by May, with delivery by June-July. I'm hoping MB/AMG will do better on the schedule. Now the real waiting begins...
Details of configuration ? I'm waiting for the cabriolet, so guessing another 6 months .
The main option are:
- Pinnacle Trim; HUD and Augmented Nav - Nice
- Night Edition: Black badging and, most important, blacked out radiator. That should go without saying. Who wants to see a silver radiator behind and a black grill.
- THE AMG Dynamic Plus Pkg, a must have IMO: Race-start and Drift mode - spells trouble!, Red brake calipers, set off by the blue paint, nicer steering wheel cover and AMG Dynamic Engine Mounts - these supposedly make the ride soother.
- The Sport seats
As I said, the build could start in May. I'm still hoping the MB/AMG will continue to accelerate the manufacturing schedule and deliver my car sooner. Fingers crossed.

I would set more realistic expectations. Time from order to delivery (and passing emissions, etc.) has been 1 year on average for the last 3 or so years from Mercedes Benz.
Cars have sat at VPC for months on end waiting to be released. Even if the car is built there is no guarantee you will take delivery in a reasonable amount of time thereafter, especially with it being a brand new model.

One year?!? That's "inconscheivable"! My experience with my last two cars was 9 and 10 weeks respectively from order to delivery.
I think my sales rep was giving me the worst case scenario. My money is on April 30 - May 1. Time will tell...
