Cost Cutting
I just noticed the seats (even the most expensive version) are single stitched vs double/French stitched on the CLE 53 - wonder where else they cut/saved $?

Welp, there are lot of cost cutting measures, if just talking about the seat, the back of the headrest is hard plastic. Thankfully, that is not an area that you will normally touch.

If I recalled correctly, only the S-Class and just a few others in MB's lineup have leather airbag covers. Mr. Benz from youtube hates the plastic airbag covers and I agree.

I totally agree! Especially in the SL and GT, those are pretty much flagships, W223 is the flagship on the luxury side and the AMG GT is the flagship on the performance side, different cars for different folks but at the end of the day, it is still the top end vehicle, it deserves the leather airbag.
