Aftermarket Exhaust for CLE53?
If I decide to buy it I’ll just put in on myself with a buddy to help me. It’s just disassembly & reassembly with some wiring and dithering to get it aligned correctly.
I’m not an auto mechanic but I’m 73, recently retired and I have a plethora of DIY skills all the way to home construction. I also bought a storage condo and I have a great collection of tools, air compressor and a lift.
My car was unloaded at the Long Beach port last Sunday so I hope to see it in Boise in a week or so. I can’t wait! It’ll be the first one in Idaho.
I ordered this exact spec September 1st 2024 the day I retired. I added every single option available except for the night packages( I prefer chrome) massage seats were only available in Macchiato. (no thanks) I got the black Napa leather with red accents AMG advanced seats with the inflatable bolsters. Red seat belts even the dash cam 100k. I plan to keep this for a long time! Yeah man!

I wonder how does it work with AMG performance exhaust module
I'll have to contact them for CLE53 fitment.
I'll have to contact them for CLE53 fitment.
And the reason I like the RennTech is that they're more like the old stock system where both pipes run through the muffler. The RES have a straight pipe that's valved which might be a little too loud for my taste. But I'm not sure what's inside the muffler, the valved side might be straight through too.

Also any news on CLE53 fitment?

You've got the stock "Real Performance" Exhaust that has one tube on each side going into the muffler, then, on the drivers side (with the larger muffler) the muffler has one pipe coming straight out and one pipe that has the valve on it. On the passenger side, it has a smaller muffler and one pipe only, that has a valve on it.
On the Renntech mufflers, it looks like both sides have one tube going into each muffler and both sides are the same, one pipe coming straight out and one pipe with a valve.
On the RES exhaust, it has one tube going into each muffler that comes straight out, and one tube bypassing the muffler altogether, that goes into a valve and come straight out.
I'm not sure why the stock exhaust has two different size mufflers each configured differently.
I would assume that the RES axhaust would be the loudest because you have a pipe bypassing the muffler and if you have the valve open on that, it's basically a straight pipe, although some of the exhaust will go through the pipe that goes into the muffler as well.
Any tips?
