Not entirely sure about what that statement means, other than ensuring you don't use a Lithium Ion charger on an AGM battery and vice versa. I have one of each (chargers) and just ensure I have the right one when I put the CTEK charger on the battery. I do not know what the charger would do if it was mismatched with the wrong style battery, however I am not going to try it.

Is that part of the AI summary? AI can make mistakes and make things confusing after all. Perhaps go directly to the source for the complete picture.
I wonder if modern trickle chargers have some sort of protection feature to automatically stop charging if it detects it as the wrong battery type. Yes, don't use your own car as an experiment.
Flooded cell and AGM batteries have different charge voltages and currents for optimal charging. Using the wrong setting on a small maintainer isn't likely to be lethal, and might not even matter. I have a 1A Battery Tender brand maintainer and also a Napa 1A maintainer I use on my tractor, UTV, and other non-automobile contraptions. Both are spec'd as FC/AGM compatbile, although neither has specific mode settings like the Noco does.
It seems that @streborx may have given me the answer. A different mode needs to be selected on my NOCO charger for AGM batteries. I need to try that. 🙂
(I didn’t know that this car had an AGM battery before checking this forum 💁♂️)
So as per your recommendations, I just received my new CTEK MXS 5.0. My new car should arrive in 10 days — it's a 2024 CLE 450 with 2K miles from a dealer in Korea. My question is: will I benefit much from this device given the current battery Age/condition?
The car has been sitting on a ship for 3 weeks, so do you guys recommend more than 8 hours of charging once I receive it?
I'm a noob to all of this — it's my first German car and I want to do things the right way. From what I understand, all I need to do is use the engine bay terminals to connect the CTEK and charge using AGM mode only. and never use recon no matter what ! Is that correct?
Also, are there any do's and don'ts while the car is charging, or anything else I should be aware of in general?

Sorry for all the questions and God bless! 🙏
You will certainly benefit from it if you don't drive much or drive short distances. As well as if the 80% max change from stock is true, the CTEK will bring it to 100% which is what AGM battery prefers. Unlike lithium-ion that prefers to be at 50%.
There are no bad questions, ask always and enjoy the vehicle.
Ask away and always ask... forgot to answer your other question, there is a red cover you slide open and you connect the positive first then the ground is the round knob (ground point). When done, always disconnect ground first then positive.
This page might help https://www.mercedes-benz.ca/en/owne...e-12-v-battery
Skip the "starting assistance" part since you are not jump starting a vehicle and start reading from the "charging" part.
