Good Afternoon All,
I am a new member. I recently ordered a new built 2025 AMG CLE Coupe. I left a deposit back in March 26, 2025. The vehicle was built on April 21, 2025. It was then transported, by vessel, to Baltimore port, in USA, on May 21, 2025. Vehicle was then unloaded from vessel and received at the vehicle port center (VPC) on May 26, 2025. (I’m not sure if there is a distinction between the vessel dropping off at the port, and received at VPC). It just seems, both could’ve been done the same day.
My question: knowing the above dates, how long will it take for a driver to be assigned to pick the vehicle up from the VPC, and then delivered to Dealership. When I agreed to the deal, the Client Advisor mentioned it would be at the dealership, the last week of May. Next week will be the middle of June. Just looking for answers.
Thanks in advance for any responses!
Edit: The MB Client Advisor (AMG Expert) has been thorough throughout this whole process. Just want to corroborate information.

Yes, there's a distinction. Once the car's been unloaded, it first has to go through customs. Then after that is when the VPC takes possession. Officially a vehicle can spend up to 20 business days at the VPC. The VPC is an extension of the factory. Some options such as Homelink are installed there and if the vehicle sustained damage it will be restored to factory conditions. They have a full body shop there to make repairs. Everything is checked over and made sure that it is in factory condition before released for transportation to the dealership. It can then take another week or so before it gets picked up by a truck. Of course any of this are just estimates and it could take more or less time depending on availability of truck drivers, parts and such. Sometimes vehicles are held for much longer at the VPC if they are waiting for a software update or a part. There are ways for the dealership to find out the status of the vehicle at the VPC, but they have to call them essentially. The status in the system will otherwise only be updated once it passed through the VPC and is ready for transport. Once on the truck it depends on how far your dealership is from the port and how many stops they have to make before they get to your dealership.
Thanks for the timely response. I received a text from the advisor on Monday stating the following, “the CLE is unloaded in Baltimore waiting to be assigned to transportation to the dealership. I will update you as soon as I have a ETA for you to schedule your day off of work. So close!!” Am I to interpret this as it’s now waiting for a driver now? And lastly, the vehicle is to transport from Baltimore to the Philadelphia area.

Yes, from that text it seems it has passed through the VPC and is waiting to be picked up by the next available transport. Originally Posted by ValiantThor
